Questions about Black Ops, portals and cynos....

So, assuming the cyno is lit within the BLOPS LY range and there is enough jump fuel:


Can a BLOPS with a Covert Jump Portal Generator provide the same role as a Titan with a Jump Portal Generator?

Can a BLOPS fitted with a Covert Jump Portal Generator 'establish' a portal (bridge) to a regular cyno or only to a Covert Cyno?

Once the jump portal (bridge) is established using a BLOPS fitted with a Covert Jump Portal Generator, is there a limit on the ship class that can jump through (fuel permitting) or can any ship class in fleet use the jump portal (bridge)?

Black Ops can only jump bridge covops.

To elaborate, because this is misleading - only ships that can fit the covops cloak can use a black ops bridge. This includes covops frigates, bombers, covert recons, covert fit strategic cruisers, blockade runners, and other black ops BS.

Think you read it wrong. They are saying that a Black Ops bridge can only BRIDGE ships fit with covert ops cloaks, and it can of course jump itself thorough, often done by accident.

So the stat you're looking for is called Jump Harmonics and it needs to be 5 (edit: not 5, but greater than 0) to use a covops bridge. It actually has nothing to do with whether a ship can fit a covops cloak or not -- at least not directly. It does just so happen that all ships that can fit a covops cloak have Jump Harmonics 5 (including the Etana if you care) -- but so do Black Ops themselves. So yes, Block Ops can use covert portals generated by another Blops.

Just to clarify, you can;
1. Bridge anything that can fit a cov ops cloak
2. Black ops can jump and bridge to cov and regular cynoes
3. Black ops can not bridge other black ops bs, bs takes more then you have in fuel bay
4. Use them wisely please :)

Right, seeing as I'm probably the only one in this thread who uses Black Ops everyday.

1: Black ops can bridge Covert Ops, Steatlh Bombers, Force Recons, T3s with Covert Subsystem, Cloaky Haulers and other Black Ops Battleships. Specifically any ship that has Jump Harmonics 2

2: Yes, they can bridge other Black Ops, it's just not done because it's more fuel efficient for Black Ops to use their own Jump Drives. I have bridged a JDC4 Black Ops through my JDC5 Redeemer as it didn't have the jump range.

3: Covert Bridges can be established to ANY form of Cyno. Be that regular or covert on a ship, or a Cyno Beacon anchored at a POS.

4: Black Ops Battleships, cannot fit a Covert Ops Cloak, not that they need one anyway.

Any more questions?

Maybe i was a bit wrong on bridging other bs (which is still useless but whatever) and you should ask ryan how often i do blops as you are not the only one an stop being a ******* smartass.

But they get a cloaked velocity multiplier on them, not to mention my corpy has a fitting with a covert cloak on
