Will just leave an advice.

Dont move anything in the future, liquidate all assets possible and move with ISK. Isk is mobility, and ocuppy 0 cargohold plus cant be looted.

Move your assets by yourself latter, buy a interdiction nullified cloacking something, a bomber, etc, and move your things in off peak hours and possibly with an alt scouting forward.

As they say, dont fly what you cant afford to lose. Extend it to dont give assets you cant afford to lose :)

When I moved to null i did as a poor bastard flying a myrmidon. All my other possessions were converted to isk.

cannot give the +1 because, goons, but thats great advice. if you have not already, train some trade skills and put everything up on the market, undercut the .01 iskers because its funny, and because if it doesn't sell overnight, 50 days later you'll notice a sudden bonanza hit your wallet and your like "oh shii" *checks journal* "that finally sold? coooooooo"

you should always be prepared to turn around and stick a knife in the through.

Once upon a time, I tried to get into a corp, I was asked for ISK up front, 600M to be exact.

I publicly humiliated this person, to the point of where he was adding people to red watch list in recruiting channel.

I then had the nuts to ask him for 2.5B isk to teach him how to scam properly and point out all of his mistakes, He just logged, leaving an almost full bucket of tears for me.

Point is, to make it here, you have to LEARN to be a wolf.

Keep in mind that if you are not naturally a douche you will never be as good at it as people that are.

And good luck beating them at their own game. That is sucker play.

And to the people that say 2.4 billion is worth the lesson learned, send me $70 USD and feel content.

maybe you'd actually enjoy the game if you stopped trying to translate everything into real money terms?

Just a thought ... courier contract with 2.4bil of assets ... why did you not have collateral set to ... 2.4b??

Even within our corp we put collateral on courier jobs, not due to lack of trust but due to the fact sometimes freighters get killed!

It's a rookie mistake but i guess one that you will learn from. Noticed you already have a new corp, but if you were looking for an industry corp that mixes in a bit of cap construction i would suggest heading to one of the quieter regions, (Genesis etc) and look around there for some miners and industry folk to team up with.

I feel for you, I was recently relieved of 200 billion by a RL ‘friend’ that has been playing this game with me for 3 years, through thick and thin he was there, defending me, and I defending him. Over the holidays he absconded with literally everything he could contract to himself, canceled market orders to raid the wallet, and reprocessed anything he couldn’t sell instantly so he could sell it for the mineral value. I learned all this through his API in EVE-HQ while sitting in a coffee shop on holiday.

The lesson? Never trust anyone with all you own, no matter how sure of them you are, remember there is always a number that will make the betrayal worth it. Just do what you did to make it the first time, knowing the mistakes you made should make this time easier.

Are you serious? RL friend as in someone you actually are friends with in RL, would betray you over some numbers on an online game?

This guy must be a real hero IRL.

maybe start with a procurer?

how do people who can have such ships and money, fall for such obvious scams?

This "scam" is not really that obvious, because it's not a scam at all.

It's called betrayal. You can never expect that your corp-mates are going to betray you. You never know - unless your joining a corp well-known for it, and then it's all on you for joining anyway - and it's to late when it has happened.

This is incidentally, one of the reasons I preffer to deal with my own logistics and only trust my corp-mates to a specific extent. Some get their jollies from robbing you through your trust. Some get theirs from shooting you, due to your trust, and some enjoy both at the same time.

To the OP, thanks for sharing this, even if it's highly likely more people will fall for this cheese move, and I'm sure others have before. I wish you luck in re-gaining your ISK, and hope you have learned a valuable lesson.

It did cost you 2.4 billion, after all.

Thanks for all the advice guys and gals, I should have known better, looking back on it I'm an idiot, I should have at least left the orca back, losing a hulk, I could have covered it,but oh well. back on the track to making isk I guess :)

You are not the first to learn a harsh lesson in EVE. Dust yourself off, take a deep breath and get back into it. apply all lessons learned, make a few billion isk and read this forum so you too can laugh at the newcomers crying about how they got scammed because they ignored the basic rules of never risk what you cannot afford to lose, never trust anyone, and everything is a scam in this game... some are just less costly than others. Fly safe.

There is only one guy you can trust in this game, his name is Chribba, and he ain't hiring.

For the rest......well, looks like you found a new corp, but if you want to get spacerich again either find a WH corp and have fun there or just take your 5 million, hop in a combat frig or a Venture (you have a better chance of slipping past gatecamps in a Venture...) and head down into Null.

I hear the rats are very fat down there..:)

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

You want to know what immorality in EVE Online looks like? Look no further than Ripard "Jester" Teg.

Chribba is the Chuck Norris of EVE.

I am a casual player and I spend money to play the game. I think CCP likes this.

And I enjoy the game alot thank you. But in retort, maybe you would enjoy life more if you spent less time on this game.
