After reading a bunch of old forum posts on what it takes to kill a large offline tower in lowsec, I wasn't able to find any concrete information, so I put together a group of people and tried it.

Fleet Composition:
2x Dominix w/ Garde IIs, 5x meta 4 large blasters, 4x drone damage amps, 3x magstab IIs
3x Tornado w/ 800mm scouts, full gyro IIs
1x Ishtar w/ Garde IIs and rails
1x Talos w/ 8x meta 4 large blasters, full magstab IIs
1x Harbinger w/ 7x Heavy Modulated Pulses w/ Multifreq, full Heat Sink IIs, 5x Hammerhead Is
1x Archon off grid w/ 13x Einherjis assigned to the Tornados

It took us right around 4 hours to destroy it. So it should be: 50m shields with some resists and passive shield regen (not real sure about the resists), 4m armor, 4m structure. NO resists on armor or structure. The shields took probably 3.5 hours and the armor and structure took about 30 minutes. Next time we'll be bringing dreads because 4 hours is pretty painful.

Enjoy cleaning up those lowsec moons!

so about 7, maybe 8k dps?

Use dreads, takes about 5min to kill an offline tower.

btw each racial tower has it's own base resist profile which is listed on the show info tab.

Yeah, my small group of Eve-playing friends couldn't bring any dreads, but a couple of us have decided to train for them so we can do this the right way next time. Good to know about different racial resists, thanks.

To kill the control tower, shoot it until it dies.

Never forget.

Done it myself with a few buddies (o/ Gallactica, Akaraman) and can confirm offlined large towers are a complete pain in the arse without dreads.

Why an offline structure has shields (especially ones recharging) baffles me...

Definately +1 here for having it just have armour and structure when offlined.

Realistically though CCP won't go near POS coding changes until they can 'fix' the whole thing.

best way is to use afk armageddons.

You had an Archon off-grid for 4 hours with all of its fighters deployed and no real support if it did get attacked?

Well done for managing not to get it killed Lol

Fair enough, you should have said "at a POS" then rather than off-grid. There's a notable difference Lol

As a general point, lasers are your friends when POS-bashing. A better friend is a "family emergency" - dog looks unwell/whatever gets you out of sitting there for ages Blink

Get your scrubs to train into shield RR domis with T2 sentries and 3 DDA's each. 1200 DPS racial sentries each x 10 = POS dead before you have to trim your nails and beard.

They really need to change offlined POS mechanics to where you can, I don't know, un-anchor them and haul them off.

I can't tell you how many offlined towers I have ran into during my stint in WH's over the years. Seems like just about every system has at least one offlined tower.

Dont even bother with dreads, just drop your supercarrier alts on it.

As our ships never run out of power for their shields, I think it makes sense for a POS to have the same thing.

The projected forcefield bubble goes offline when a POS does but I think the shield is still meant to be just over the hull of the POS (like a ship), which is what we shoot when attacking an online POS.
