Podded - skill loss choice

Hi guys,

I am not able to find precise information about skill loss.

Let's say, i have 5 rank 1 skills at level 5. I get podded without clone. Which one is chosen for skill deduction? Is it done in alphabetical order maybe?

Also, what with skills that are losing prerequisities this way? Let's take cynosural skill. This needs Electronics V. If i lose last level of Electronics (or part of it), my cynosural field theory stays same, but I am not able to use Cyno Generator anymore (because one of my prerequisite skills is not greeen anymore, right?).

Thanks for any relevant answers, trollolers will be ignored (what worse can you do to the troll, right?)

If you lose a prerequisite skill for another skill, you can still use the more advanced skill. I got prodded once and lost Industry 5, but I could still fly my Retriever. Never trained it back and I can still fly the T1 Barges. I'm pretty sure it's random as to which lvl5 skill it takes down a notch.

I wear my goggles at night.

Any spelling/grammatical errors come complimentary with my typing on a phone

I believe it is random (same mechanic as T3 & subsystems) in that case, otherwise the skill with the most points trained.

For what it is worth EVElopedia - What happens when my character dies?

Thanks to both :) Especially part about not loosing access to what was once skilled (when loosing prerequisite) is very interesting. I'll double check on test server when I get it up and running.

Hm, that means I need to play russian roulette when I want to bring my alt back under clone limit :)

I think the important distiction is between Primary Prerequisites and Secondary Prerequisites. Only the Primary ones are checked, the Secondary ones are only to see if you can inject the skill, or possibly also to see if you can train it further (but I doubt that).

I vaguely recall once having seen Tertiary Prerequisites, but I'm not sure. The concept doesn't make much sense...

Due to the way skill requirements work in eve, you get to keep the more advanced skill and use anything that it might unlock.

A good example would be the mining barges. If you could fly them before, you didn't need to train mining frigate to use them.

Mining barges do not need the Mining Frigate skill.

The Mining Barge skill does, though, doesn't it? He was pointing out that right now, there are lot of people flying around in barges who don't have Mining Frigate trained up, which is analogous to losing a skill that is a prerequisite for another skill that is required for a particular ship.

Ah, so they decided against that. In that case, I guess it's not such a good example.
