No mention of ECM on the CSM minutes

I skimmed through the minutes with many worthwhile and exciting changes proposed, I must say, but I was surprised that there was no mention of ECM.

In fact I did a word search to make sure I hadn't missed anything and there was not a single mention of the words ECM or ECCM on the whole document, or 'electronic' even.

That is astonishing. One of the most infamous and discussed 'features' of the game that is constantly called to be changed all over the forums and nobody even mentioned it.

I don't even know what else to say.

It was just changed in Retribution, maybe that's why?

Takes a time to see how much effect the sensor strength skill has, people need to train it/them and get some experiences. And for CCP to gather some stats.

That was a nerf? If so the nerf bat they used must have been nerfed itself. To be fair I haven't really played since the patch but that chance strikes me as something between ineffective (a whole 20% in sensor strength? wow) and worthless (it's been argued the mechanic itself is broken).

Still, one would expect the CSM to discuss how (in)effective that change has been and not even that has happened. My point stands and I'm unhappy about it.

Guys guys I haven't actually logged in to see the affect of any recent changes so here are my old presumptions splattered all over the forums.

E-war is much better balanced now, you can unironically use Arbitrators and Bellicoses and Celestes in fleet now and it owns.

The new ECCM skill is actually a major nerf to ecm pilots. I simply can't see them justifying talking further about ECM, without first seeing the full implications of this most recent blow.

It would almost seem that the CSM and CCP chose to discuss more worthwhile issues...

Never mind the fact that things like the Crucifier actually have some bite to them now.

Considerable dialogue on ECM had already occurred (and continues to occur from time to time) between the CSM and CCP Fozzie via Skype.

We dont make a habit of including a laundry list of buzzwords in the minutes just to appease everyone.

Bro, if it wasn't in the minutes, the CSM has never talked to CCP about it. EVER.

ECM cannot be balanced mathematically - no matter how small the chance of a successful jam, the frustration of the jammed pilot will always be much greater than when facing other ewar.

ECM is an anti-fun mechanic due to its core design (the idea that the total loss of control is somehow made up for by making the mechanic chance-based is flawed) and would have to be reworked entirely in order to become more popular.

Nerfing range of ECM ships or their chance to jam are completely ineffective regarding the perception of ECM (half a dozen nerfs later and "because of Falcon" is still a thing...) - right up to the point where everybody stops using ECM ships entirely.
