I hope it would be something like 'Homesteading' ; making your and your corps/alliance home in the space you live in.

It makes for a lot of different options, big or small, new or reiterated and touches of every type of gameplay.

  • Beginning the groundwork for Modular POSses (The way I read it; they didn't say outright say they didn't want posses redone, just it would take them a lot of time and doubted whether or not that amount was justifiable(hint: it is, since modular posses should be possible for single players to maintain))
  • Reworking how SOV works and what the purpose of holding SOV is
  • Giving more meaning to holding FW systems [docking rights; use of stargates etc]
  • Reworking how NPC sov works [docking rights; use of stargates etc]
  • Alliance changes to allow for bottom up taxation and other shenanigans; like Corp tasks, Complex contracts etc
  • Changing the way Solarsystems function; (or at least starting with the needed changes for it to happen)
  • - more Wormhomleish with scannable stuff
    - adding the first itteration for Ring Mining
    - something like Magnificent Structures; building structures which require an upkeep and allow fundamental changes in Solar systems; Player build stargates; Changing WH efffects; or even affecting how much NPC's spawn; Added ore to Belts, this will be possible in all regions of space [high/low/null/WH], as long as people Protect and maintain the structure providing the effects; they're available for everyone in the system.
  • Giving Dust corps the ability to exploit captured districs by giving the the ability to manufacture complex planetside products, selling them using Customs Offices in space. Products will be appearing on the market to be bought, pickup would be at the customs office.
  • Make Planetside Turrets build-able and movable(solarsystem wise) for EVE and Dust corps; using said complex products and modified eve turrets

Guess that enough to make an expansion or 2 over ^_^

I am not quoting this because I agree, but simply because you have a truly terrifying avatar. Shocked

I love the idea that the next theme will have a little bit of everything, some improvements to exploration, some NEW SHIPS YAY PLEASE Big smile and just bits and bobs for everyone, rather than one whopping great big change to one area of play.

This summer's theme will be "Personalized EVE Superhero Powers".

Mine will involve drinking worm juice and some sort of funky voice module weapon, which my followers will need to use, but I won't need due to my glowing blue eyes and awesomeness.

The rest of you will get buttkiss. Tough noogies -- go play Dust bunny or something. Blink

"EVE is dying." -- The Four Forum Trolls of the Apocalypse.   ( Pick four, any four. They all smell.  )

Tthe dreadful 'Planetary Interaction' is something that you only do if you're into self-loathing. I wouldn't mind an empire of little industrial outposts working for me while I'm at the bar down the street if it didn't mean having to suffer the system they have now.

DUST / PI coupling? I still want to import Militia on my lowsec planets to spawn more irritating NPCs in DUST. With scrams. And neuts.

Whatever they call it doesn't matter.

What matters is that they deliver a good game.

Oh, and ofc they should do what my sig says Blink.

According to the recent CSM minutes, CCP will be assembling expansions around a particular theme, rather thana particular feature.

What do you think the theme of the next expansion will be.

I'm hoping "smuggling"

Which would include a boost to drug manufacture (and the parts of the POS that are used to make them. New boosters that we can sell to dust bunnies in multiplayer establishments. And players scanning for booster smugglers and applying mob justice.

CCP has actually said something about smuggling, and it's a cool space-theme with long history. They could even include POSes easily under that, since they are the place where any outlaw would hide and do his thing.

What that devblog says is precisely that they won't be focusing in one aspect of the game, but try to encompase many of them under a theme, like bounty hounting has been for Retribution or wormholes were for Apocrypha.

I think they should just center the next expansion around "complaining"
That way, no matter what they do, what improvements they make or what they break they'll nail it.

I actually lol'd IRL.

IMO the jove should only be introduced in the dying days of Eve, maybe the last few weeks before they turn TQ off forever

For some reason I've always thought about this too. Specially since we have been talking in the fiction subforum about all the eve cluster being a big Petri plate for the joves in their search of a cure. What you said would make much sense in that context, with the jovians finally coming to 'harvest' us, and the last struggle.

Or maybe the rebuild of the EVE gate, who knows!

I like the idea of an expansion that focuses on helping players feel like they have a place in space.

Such an expansion could include
- Up gradable captains quarters for solo players
- modular POS for group players
- The ability to alter the landscape of null for alliance players.
