Cloaking on regular ships is kinda like a mobile station wherever you click it. there have been times where i have flown an odd ship during a super cap fleet battle, wasn't targetted, cloaked, explained the excitement to my roommate, poured another drink, and resumed the killing. Cloaks on your cloakies test your targets group awareness and vigilance. Carebearing should be hard, but not so hard that we lose carriers to afk cloakies all day. That means your alliances sov space wasn't so sov. gtfo.

edit: **** local. boost small gang.

If someone craps in your sandbox: 1. Light it on fire 2. Grab your shovel 3. Throw it back at them.

You're right, you shouldn't be in local in the first place.... like in WHs

Then, as a counter, I'd have cloaked ships show up on Dscan, which could be used to find where to fly to decloak them while they are in a bubble

edit:

then they weren't AFK, were they?

You'd then have to buff nullsec income to make it worth my time with the hassle of my ship being blown up. Good luck as Tech Moons are just the first target.

Local is the best intel tool in the game for non w-space. CCP is scared to death to lose thousands of player's subs if they change local to delayed.

Local as it is doesn't make sense, it's influencing the way Eve is played much more than any ship or any upcoming T4.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

There's nothing wrong with local as it is.

Cloaking is fine but could be much better.

CovOps, Reccons, BlackOps need more tools to improve their game play and offer bitter vets new goals and different gaming experience.

+1 for cloak buffs Lol

Sure but it better remove everyone else's (and prevent DScan)

Sending out pings to scan for things is not silent running

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Built by CCP

No. They should just remove your name and be untouchable imho, its already a pain they can know when your alts are there when you DO decide to not be afk :3

I'd better be able to know there's a cloaked ship within a certain distance (say, 5 AU of me).
Otherwise no, this is a bad idea.

Agreed. Ship scanning should burn through module based cloaks at some minimum distance

No it shouldn't.

Yes it should. What's the point of a "covert" ship when everyone knows it's there? They also need to make some way to scan down cloaked ships so one can't stay in a system forever with nobody being able to touch it.

Ouch. Just lost all respect for the OP, well, if that was at all possible after his initial post.

Tip 1) look at the fit of the carrier I threw at the gate xD. Was hilarious

LOL, wish theyd put the local chat logs -.-... its amazing, i lost less than a single faction battleship for lulz, and someone came here to post like it was epeen :(

Carriers are 300mil losses insured if built yourself ... so I don't think them that impressive, sorry if theyre impressive to you <3

edit : oh my god those moros kills xD brings back memories... 300+ kills with drones alone in low sec, 100 + pods, billions in haulers... then I lost it and bought another one within 3 minutes. Shame on the drone nerf xD.

I don't get it... If you can afford to replace a ship over one hundred times...

Why should it matter in a video game? :3

But in all seriousness, I don't care about capitals, and cloaking shouldnt even work on them (its like making a f***ing station invisible, shouldnt happen) .... its about how unstoppable cloaking is. If you want to epeen over me losing ships I don't care about fine, just have something to say about whether cloaks should have any counter or not

PS: Thrayx... you afk cloaked for two days, and I made more than 6.5bil in those two days before you killed my 1.4bil carrier (1.1bil insurance payout)... Don't be mad :)

Aye,uncloaked and forgot to re cloak :3. Fitting for a cloaking topic discussion, but on the bright side, in the time I had it, it made enough to buy roughly 6 more carriers of the same fit.

I'm so bad... thinking of profit margins rather than killboards... god help me

edit: ps, this is also a rule: never buy prefit carriers. Unless you dont care xD
