errrrrrrrrrr damps and jams ...... problem solved

I'm glad someone said it.

I also think that FCs have gotten too set in their ways. What happened to thinking outside the box? For instance, in medium sized fleets not everyone has to have a web and a point. There I said it!!!! I know that it is sacrilege to even consider this. But if you have logi, then what is the issue with having dedicated tackle ships? So what if people get away, they can rally their friends to try again and the logi can keep your tackle ships alive for longer.

So if you have dedicated tackle ships then that gives you two extra slots for ewar of your choosing on the other ships who are not specialized into Ewar or some type. I would think that any ewar would screw up an enemy fleet's day if they aren't prepared for it. I mean imagine the chaos of an FC telling their fleet to use their ewar on targets of their choosing. Suddenly you have reduced the effectiveness of each enemy ship because they are TD'ed, Damped, or locked. And if you run into enemy logi, then the FC can call out Ewar targets.

One last thing to consider. Why are you doing pvp? If it is to wipe your enemy off the field to gain some advantage in that space then the tactics should be different than if you are doing it for the entertainment of the fight where you want lots of fights.

The composition of fleet fights in lowsec has changed radically since Retribution was released. I'm not so sure for the better.

Before December 4th, flying with logistics was a rarity. Something done occasionally to mix things up, to try something new. Fweddit experimented with a Circlejerk doctrine involving Drakes. We had some success with it, but it was a specialty doctrine, useful only in particular situations.

If you think about it some, I don't think you'll agree with what you're saying.

Why should logistics (a key combat element) be niche or rare?
Why should an essential role be pushed into T2 hulls, which are only then really useful with their skills to V?

A little less "oh god these things" and a little more "how do we kill these things" and the issue goes away. For a ship that will be the primary ECM target of the enemy, they have terrible sensor strength.

Lowsec PVP needs to be less "hurf, blurf, we're all DPS ships!" and these changes are a fantastic way of doing that. Lots of newer players are having a lot of fun and are being more effective in fleets. I need a really good explanation as to why that's a bad thing.
