Have you ever wanted to keep track of your items, and market prices within an Excel spreadsheet? Yet you never could figure out how to get the XML URL's to work?

Well today I am sharing my private XML creator for Excel.

It has every item id available online, and every solar system included in the database.

Simple instructions are provided within the document.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and I hope that some of you out there find this helpful.

Below is the file, and please know this is still a work in progress, and will be finished as I finish some other items on my agenda.

Take care, and fly safe.

Yes, let me just download some random Excel file, that came from who-knows-where.
That seems safe.

Any suggestions? I'll upload to whatever site. Just looking to help others out with importing XML to Excel. As of now I changed the file share link to rapidshare.com. Let me know if you have another site you'd like it uploaded to.

.xml files are scary, keyloggers ect. Source code my be a viable choice.

These may as well be farts in the wind but I have had a few beers since the start of this thread.

No API Key is required, this spreadsheet just allows you to search for an item and system where you'd like the price from and it gives you the eve-central xml url to use.

I'll post some screenshots sometime tomorrow.

I decided to add some screenshots tonight with an explanation as to what is in the screenshot. All screenshots were uploaded to imgur.

Image One Myself downloading the file from RapidShare, as well as showing the file in my RapidShare Documents.

Image Two The first page of the Excel sheet. The item has a drop down list where you can pick your item, or type in the exact name as in game (Example 10MN Microwarpdrive II). The same goes for Solar System, every system in the game is in the drop down list. Or again you may enter your own with exact spelling as the game (Example from screenshot is 006-L3). As you can tell by the screenshot, when you change the item and the solar system the url for eve-central changes so you can upload the data as xml to your excel sheet.

Image Three Is the solar system master data. Nothing but a bunch of solar systems and id's.

Image Four Is the item master data. Again every item which I could find with an ID is in this list. I believe every item in the game is within this list, or almost every item. Big smile

And? .xml files can contain executable commands...I am not saying Den has any intention of doing this but I am still wary of anything downloaded from a site like rapidshare. Just my personal opinion!

EDIT: Den I will be downloading this on my laptop I don't play Eve on and testing it for visuses and giving it a shot, as I don't mean to tear apart you're attempt at something that can be very helpful :)

In today's world everyone has the right to be afraid of the internet. I figure once people start testing it and I make it more presentable, it will help at least a few out.

Take care,
