LF Advice on lvl 4 missions (ship/faction)

Hi all,

Looking to do level 4's but i would like some advice first. I would like to use the best ship (from below) according to which NPC faction I am running missions four.

I won't do TIII because I will spend most my time distracted. My main source of income will be loot and bounties, who the LP store is with isn't top priority either.

The ships I have in mind are shield fit (pref passive) of the following:

Sleipner
Nighthawk
Rattlesnake
SNI

Lastly - Assuming my standing with the NPC corp i run for is high enough, can I still run lvl 4's if my faction standning is negative (even with skills).

First, don't rule out the Tengu. You can be distracted and survive just fine in it. Just go in and kill anything that might web you (frigates), circle something at high speed, and then you can tank 20 BS at once forever. Of course you'd want a cap stable setup for the "forever" part.
From your list my two recommendations (mainly because I'm familiar with them) are the SNI and the Rattlesnake. The Rattlesnake has an insane tank, so properly fitted you can just sit in the middle of a fully aggro'd room and go out to dinner (you'd want to have tested the mission a few times to make sure of this, however :). The main problem is that drones need a bit more care and feeding nowadays due to the AI changes, but they still work. Worse comes to worst, you will need to replace a flight of drones...a lot cheaper than a new ship; and if you can afford a Rattler, you can afford the drones.
The SNI has a large tank, and can complete missions faster than a Rattler. You can be distracted for a while (a long while if you know the mission and control aggro). I might suggest going the SNI route. Then, if you can pay attention or can afford a setup that is more forgiving (that is, pimped) you are well on your way to a CNR and anyway the skills take you closer to the Rattler.
As for accessing L4s, yes, all you need is the 5.0+ standing with the corp. However I believe you need to be above -2 with the faction (you will want confirmation on that).

I used to run with a Rattlesnake. Its a very effective drone boat (assuming you have the skills trained).

I use a Gila now for mobility. Plus, I equip exp/therm and my tank is omni.

if you're gonna afk anyway, you may as well put remote reps in the highs of your rattler and rep your sentries.

I should buy an Ishtar.
