it seems the second the games started sharing chat channels the nda became useless.

@CCP FoxFour

I understand the need to keep the economies seperate, though why couldn't the corp tax be deducted from Dust Merc and deposited into the (hidden in eve) Dust Wallet Division?

I can pretty much guarantee whoever the nda is supposed to protect CCP from already has dust alts. Nda was useless the instant CCP handed out Beta keys.

Will dust bunnies be able to form their own corporations without EvE accounts?

Still closed beta until 22nd Jan.

This would be good2know. Plus: Can I somehow "clone" my EvE character (char name is important) in DUST without setting up a new?

Don't be scared, because being afk is not a crime.

DUST players can create corporations right now.

No sorry. The only way would be to bio-mass your EVE character and then create a DUST character with the name. DUST and EVE are the same universe on the same server. There cannot be two of you.

Forgive my ignorance but can I then use my Eve character to play Dust (on the PS3) if I can't use the same name?

No, you will need to create a new character on your DUST account.

You're a spaceship pilot, not a soldier. Of course you're also a clone, and clones can obviously be cloned again. Base clone programming made you a pilot, it could make you a soldier.

Basically make Asklepiodes II. People who know you will most likely recognize you.

Keep in mind open beta does not mean no NDA.

This is bound to end well...

I've been following quite a lot of different forums and pretty much everyone of us playing DUST seems to be under the impression that the NDA is getting lifted on the 22nd. Unless you go out and actively start informing people about this there's going to be massive NDA breakage.

Hell, there's even a 24h child's play charity livestream planned and dust devs have posted in that thread so even they don't know the NDA isn't getting lifted.

Assuming that's what you were hinting at.

I am not hinting at anything. I am just pointing out that one thing does not directly mean the other. Players from both communities should just be watching for news about it as I am sure when we do lift it we will announce it. Assumptions are bad. :)

While we're pointing things out, actually telling us whether or not the NDA will actually be lifted would've been a useful response.

I have another question for C.C.P. about dust from a ceo's perspective.

1) Will dust members be able to access the corporate hangar array for military assets?

2) Will corporations be getting a special dust only corp hangar array?

3) If dusties need to use assets, will a corp person have to hold them in orbit for deployment?

4) Is there a way I, as a ceo, can specify the number of each asset a dust member can use in a single battle before having to use their own assets?

While this is something we would love to get in, as it stands the only way for corporations to share assets is to share the ISK and have the members buy the blueprints.

Don't know that much about DUST but one question that seems to constantly come up (which always includes a long and drawn out complaint) is why is DUST only available on the PS3? Specifically why is it not for the PC given that the EVE community is largely a PC community? More importantly are there any plans to put this on the PC?

I would love to try it, but I think I would prefer a big kick in the balls from a professional NFL kicker than to purchase a playstationsuperbox360 or whatever the hell the kids are calling it these days.

The reality of Eve is that, if you don't love it like it is today, you should probobly go ahead and unsub.

We will be lifting the NDA alongside the start of the open beta today. There will be tons of media coverage probably as well so everyone interested in the nitty gritty of the whole thing should have a good day today :)

Edit: On another note, IMHO the NDA should have been lifted before DUST ever touched the live EVE server. Dust bunnies can affect FW control on tranquility, yet we aren't even allowed to discuss anything about DUST? This makes no sense whatsoever.

Respect Cool

Agreed. This action by CCP appears to lack sound rationale.

CCP opted to release a sub par shooter in to a market already saturated with modern shooters, what makes you think CCP has ever thought rationally about dust :P
