Bump!

Cool

Gotta be more from WA around here, sheesh!

We should all get together in Wenatchee, bring your homemade Corp-logo Iron-Brand and we can go scar some livestock then go cow-tipping .....!

...oh damn, suddenly realized why nobody lives in this town

Excellent!

I know there's a geek-styled bar in Everett called "AFK Tavern" that would be perfect for a little gathering; atleast for those near/down the I-5 corridor. For the rest of us that are out of range, we will have to find another suitable location. Maybe somewhere on the east side?

As Draconus previously posted; there is an in-game channel and mailing list named "TheSound" that's a good hang-out.

With that said, I don't know when, but who would be able to make the drive to the AFK Tavern (in Everett)? Just to gauge how many people are in comfortable range for an event there.

Cool

I'd be up for the drive, only a couple hours away........ but nuts to that until spring, Winter is already getting a foothold over here. If I could find a way to eliminate one of my intel channels, I'd be in the WA public trollololing it up =P

That's what I'm talking about!

It's pretty nasty around here too and I have a couple hour drive myself. Anyone else up for a little drive when the weather is a lot nicer?

I will be shooting for first quarter, next year, after our wet-winter. It seems like we might have a good half-dozen to a full dozen participants also. I'll let you all know as soon as I get the information.

Lake Stevens checking in. We have had meet-ups in the past at AFK Tavern. Great place and great times. Keep us posted on the date and I will show.

Another new-ish player from around the Sound. (work is Seattle, home is Federal Way)

Did an ingame chat channel or mailing list ever materialize for this? Seems like that would be a much easier way for people to stay informed about any get-togethers.

Thank you so much everyone, again!

Like I said, shooting for first quarter at the "AFK Tavern" but before we pencil anything in:

1. Venue Location
Im pretty sure its the "AFK Tavern", but if you have ANY other suggestions, we can put them to a vote before I start setting things up next month.

2.A. Rough Date
I was thinking late February or early March because (I would like to think) we get our taxes back around that time and it would be easier to go if we had some extra clams laying about.

Saturday, February 9th
Sunday, February 10th

Saturday, February 23rd
Sunday, February 24th

Saturday, March 23rd
Sunday, March 24th

Those are the best dates for me, but that really doesn't matter because I will be taking time off or this event if it comes down to it. I just wanted to throw some dates out there and see if they stuck.

2.B. Rough Time
AFK Tavern is open 7 days a week, 11AM to 3AM so I was thinking 4-6PM or even later 6-8PM for kick off.

3. List of Attendees
24 on the forum and a few stragglers in the channel so I'm thinking at least accommodate 25. And don't worry minors (If there are any) AFK Tavern has areas to accommodate where we can move in and out of.

4. Activities
We have the initial meet-and-greet, corporation and alliance business, booze, food, and board games on site, (Which I'm pretty sure is good enough for us) but is there something else that we might want to do?

What do you guys think?

Sounds good, I'm in favor of moving it closer to Seattle in the future though. :)

As for AFK, my experience there was not great despite my hopes. Maybe this would be a chance for them to redeem themselves.

A suggestion for the future, Mox Cafe. Same crowd, different menu, closer to Seattle. :)

Mox cafe is a good option, depending on how many people we end up with. They have a couple rooms in the back that can be reserved, but they're not large.

Tacoma, WA here. It has been years since my first alliance used to do RL gatherings.

I have not been to either venue so both sound interesting.

Q: What does IT humor have in common with a classical star schema? A: They are both highly denormalized.
