I'm experiencing the same issue as detailed in this thread (now locked):

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1358789

Eve runs fine, but when I quit/tab back to desktop my screen looks like this:

http://imgur.com/pcgds

I'm not experiencing the same issue with any other games or applications.

My system spec is:
Sony Vaio Z
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
Intel Core i7-3612QM (Ivy Bridge)
Intel HD 4000 graphics (drivers up to date)

The guy in the thread I linked is correct in saying that starting Task Manager returns the screen to normal, but its annoying to say the least.

I'd be interested to hear if this is a known or common issue with Intel HD 4000 graphics. Any suggestions anyone could offer on the cause (or better yet a solution!) would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm afraid this is an issue with the Intel drivers for the HD 4000 series and there isnt much we can do about this.

I would recommend you try updating drivers by going here.

If this does not solve the issue then I would encourage you to contact Intel here

Updated Intel HD 4000 to 9.17.10.2875 / 17.10.2012

A logoff/logon solves the problem until next eve client session and destop switchback thereafter.

I can't change my bios settings to use just one or the other. I have considered disabling the Intel card in device settings, but don't really want to have to do that but it would be nice to know what can be done to prevent this.

Also getting this problem, its annoying as hell

Eve Client refuses to pick up geforce gt 640m card and instead runs from intel 4400, resulting in disastrous gaming experiance

Running the game on Acer laptop with win7P 64bit

Anybody know if reinstalling the game makes a difference? Ive more or less did everything else save smashing the laptop against a wall, thanks.

How well can you run EvE with those specs?

Its running fine.
I notice things slow down in a gas-environment (ladar sites) and i havent been in any big battles using this laptop.
Other than that i have no problems. I have reduced the gfx settings a bit also.
I have a docking station and the resolution is 1920x1200.
