So I've just been scammed

then maybe you should have done some work on that corp given your not the first to be scamed by then when join a corp do your own back ground check of them just like most corps do for new members and never ever contract you stuff to anyone.

Sorry to hear of your loss Krank.
This sort of thing happens in eve more than any other mmo that I know of. I guess this is what make's it so different to other mmo's.
Don't let it throw you, get back on that horse, but know this, there are a lot of good folk out there, not all are *********s. Find them and wallow in bliss.

Easiest way to earn money without investments atm - join FW. Also you might want to create new account and start another character (PvE/PvP) + freeze this account to avoid traumatizing memories (and optionally - sell this toon). Sooner or later you'll need alts anyway - it's proper moment to create one.

Yeah, this is what I've decided to do. I had begun the process of applying to join Goonswarm legitimately, but they're just a little bit too cliquish for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them, they're just not my thing. I'm hoping to find a place in FW or, at some point, an FW corp, but I've gotta get my faction standings back up first....

Hi OP, this is EvE, People in EvE (expolit) other player trust and weaknes, no need to feel stupid for long therm, remember you are not only one who fall into scam, here several large alliances and directors who got scammed on bilions even trilions of isk, people who lose entire capitals supply and other assets at once, you got lesson, from this lesson you learn how to avoid this kind of scam in future game and even in RL in future.

Dont lysten to people who personal atack, blame you and make fun on you, try take it easy.

Fly safe and GL in future.

General tips on joining a new corp.

1. Check Eve-kill and Battleclinic - look for corp on corp kills (even if you are joining an indy corp)
2. Always move your own stuff or sell it and rebuy in the new location, if they offer to courier it decline politely.
3. Always talk to someone before applying, if something feels wrong in the convo don't join.
4. Check forums - most scammers are repeat offenders and these threads are endless.
5. Always keep something back - whether its a spare mackinaw or a BS for PVE, then if the brown stuff hits the fan you don't have to restart from scratch. Leave it in an area you know well and don't move it.
6. If you have any doubts or concerns ask - see what the recruiter/ceo says, are they evasive? Are they dismissive? Do you smell a rat?
7. NEVER TRUST ANYONE, don't lend someone a few hundred mil for a plex, don't lend a ship, don't fly your officer fit Machariel in a corp mission fleet. Note: this doesn't mean don't join in, give people isk by all means, give people ships, fly a maelstrom in those mission fleets - just don't do things which expect others to return your generosity.
8. For indy pilots I actually reccomend leaving your orca toon in the NPC corp, that way he can't be wardecced, can't be awoxed and can still boost you or your alliances mining ops.

Don't be afraid to say to a recruiter tyvm but no. You are not required to join a particular corp and should feel confident you have researched the one you do join and that it is the right one for you.

Edit: Hmm reading back over this, I am quite proud of it I deserve many likes I think :)

Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

Killing me should be for free.

Be strong and carry on.
One thing you will learn with EVE is that as your SP grows your capacity to make ISK does as well, it may have taken you 9 months to gain that ISK before, but think of how now you can get right into x ship and do y task.

I would say with the 5mil, go grab a nice frigate or go back to the career agents and mission for them (the indy ones give you the new mining frigate for free) and start working up again.
Highsec anomalies (run scan warp in kill rats) can have a chance for a faction spawn dropping good loot. I had a newbie character find a 200mil item once when he was a day old doing this.

Mostly just take the time to realise that this is part of EVE, you fell for it now and early at least. GL and I hope you stay around, give it a year or two and you'll be telling you new corp about that time you lost everything but came back stronger.

OP, it sucks that this happened to you. But you speak as if you lost 8 months of progress. That's not entirely true. You just lost assets, and it sucks you lost it all at once. That's the hard part to swallow. You actually learned one of the hardest lessons in the game, the hard way. You will not make this mistake again. That is your progress right there. You now have a worthy enemy. Go forth, find a corp worthy of your skills, and build them an armada to utterly crush your foes! Twisted

FYI i can made 10mil per year if i realy want, some people play like casuals not eveyone is nolifer or somone who earn 100mil per day, or maybe op play more than 8 mont long in general but he earn +2bil in two day period.

Well is all depend view on this matter, over 6 years here and only around 5bil in general in my multiple assets, somtime i play months log without isk progres, even im able to earn 8bil per month im to lazy to farm mission forever.
