Sounds to me like that was a very competent Tempest pilot, and you just got outplayed in this instance.

He called his targets well, dropped the tackle from the ship that was preventing him from using the MJD, and bailed out so you couldn't gank him.

The MJD works on the same principle as a MWD. You need a scrambler to deactivate it. It was designed from the ground up like this.

Better luck next time, and good hunting Smile

Hollywood reporting in, and indeed, never not Top Gun.

A few colorful replies, and yes it was a disruptor 35km blaster deimos doing 600dps, if i had overloaded 2 seconds earlier he'd of prolly popped, if my friend wasn't dumb and running from him isntead of maintaining orbit we'd of also killed him, the situation still stands though, and for countering microwarp drives..... you can also web it, so maybe they should make webs give it a slower spool up time... my complaint is that CCP needs to balance microjump drives a little, just like the ancillary shield boosters that got their cap booster capacity deducted, these micro jump drives are a jump drive are they not? why dont they have a certain cap need like standard jump drives then? not even 25%? and i would of also rathered battleships get a different bonus, like 5% extra damage or an extra mid slot or something, or even incorporate an ewar battleship of all races rather than just the scorpion being the only ewar battleship

When this fight happened it wasn't how the OP described. There were more ships involved, including alts.

There are chat logs which are quite hilarious, too.

Here is a nice battle summary showing how pro this was, even in light of the OP's anecdotal description!

Thanks again, Daniel Whateley! There are not big enough buckets for these tears. Still:

8vs1 good odds huh? i already knew i wasn't coming out alive from that and the other time i was webbed and scrammed and you were barely scratching with that sentry domi, thats not what the post was about, stay on topic, its about the low amount of ways to slow down/prevent micro jump drives, and as someone was saying earlier you even keep your lock after using one, and yes ive fitted one to a battleship, and they fit like a glove, i just don't get why only scrams stop them, and there isn't enough penalty after/before use, you can even allign away and hit it and you can warp to whatever you were alligning to, what im wondering also is were they intended to give battleships an advantage in battle or were they added for an extra option in pvp, cause if its a balance battleships needed thats understandable, but if just an extra item to try out, theres some things that need fixing on it

Based on your tears (not sure how you see that engagement as 8v1 by the way) I'm going to go ahead and say balance was achieved, working as intended good sir.

Also, +1 to you for thinking it matters that my sentry drones barely scratched your pod at 90km.

I can explain this VERY EASY FOR YOU.

A "Disruptor" DISRUPTS" the WARP" aspect of the ship.

A "Scrambler" "Scrambles" the entire propulsion MWD or MJD ability of a ship.

These are very easy KEY WORDS to understand.

Changing your location in space instantly (teleporting) like moving off grid, you lose lock, why do you get to keep lock after using a micro jump, webs affect the propulsion of a ship, if its not teleporting, then it must travel 100km momentarily after it activates, a web on it should be allowed to slow something down from it or even reduce the jump distance, why doesn't the micro jump drive have a mass addition during the activation time, i believe that there isn't enough penalties involved with micro jump drives, i also wonder how empty this discussion would be if it wasn't FA commenting on it too, feels like im trying to argue a point to people who wont listen anyway.

Why in the world would it add mass during activation. It has no reason to do so?
