Awesome. A problem doesn't exist, so someone on the forums creates one.

Good job, genius.

Edit: nothing's more disgusting than someone raising the race card when race isn't an issue. You belong in US politics.

Actually it would be more akin to referring to Marines as Jar Heads, Navy sailors as Squids (submariners are Bubble Heads), and the Coast Guard as Puddle Pirates.

Just because your a closet racist that come to terms with your own close mindedness doesn't mean you should attribute your racist thoughts to everyone else.

To be honest, even though Dust Bunny is meant to be condescending, it is far nicer that what Eve pilots are fearing the Dust bunnies really are.

Most pilots in Eve currently picture PS3 FPS fairies as ADHD teenagers, spazzing on their controllers, downing cans of energy drinks, whom are incapable of much thought beyond well trained carnival animals let alone tactical thought. From what I have heard, what was just described isnt that far from the truth.

So yea, Dust Bunny may be a little condescending, but it is far from what Eve pilots really think at the moment.

When it comes to PvP, I am like a chiwawa hanging from a grizzley bears pair of wrinklies for dear life.

Why shouldn't we be condescending? We are the immortal capsuleer, with all of space to exploit and explore. We traverse the stars at 150x the speed of light, jumping from system to system. We control guns that shoot shells the size of an RV, and use railguns that require several gigajoules to fire, as compared to a few megajoules for our current ground based weapons. We feel superior to the dust bunnies because we are.

What did I just read?

Are you really going to relate an affectionate term for our groundside counterparts to racism, or discrimination?

This is the most ridiculous sentiment I have ever seen posted on these forums. Considering the absolute hell that people are put through because of real discrimination, to belittle that by paralleling it with the term 'dust bunny' for dust players... it's nothing like it. It's like calling a destroyer a "dessie"... is that racist against destroyers? Or calling an Australian an Aussie. Is that racist against Australians?

Actually, I believe that making this thread and bringing this issue to everyone's attention has placed me beyond reproach in that area.

Wrong. Actually, I'll bet ya nobody was even thinking that way until you brought it up.

It is pretty amazing the kind of reactions you get when you question the morality of someone's behavior. It doesn't look like I'll be changing anyone's mind here, but just keep in mind how unfashionable racism became in the span of ~50 years. I'd venture a guess that participation in this "Bunny-Bashing" won't be something you'll be eager to tell your grandkids about.

I really hope this is a troll. I really do, for your sake, because if you actually believe this "bunny bashing" crap, then you really need help. I'm not trying to offend you, even after this really offensive thing you just wrote, I'm still not trying to offend you. That's why I say I really hope this is a troll.

Because what comes next? "No orbital bombardments because it's racist against Dust Bunn players!"

Thomas you know that the game is not real right..?

Any reference to a player base is entity used to bind that player base to a common name for game referral.
Similar in-game names have been used for many years in all computer game types not just MMO's.

For a word to be raciest it has to refer to a race of people not an action. Geek is not raciest. Dust Bunny is not.
