Non-FW Dust Development?

I'm very excited for the implementation of the Dust-514 world into Eve, and I can't wait to nuke some knobs. But here is my question/concern: Will there be any future opportunity for non-FW pilots to get involved in any Dust-514 wars?

Per the FAQ: "The proportion of districts owned by each side in a FW system increases or decreases the number of Victory Points required to make that system vulnerable. Each fully controlled planet will shift the balance by 12.5%, and there can be up to four planets in a system which means a maximum shift of 50% VP. Having a well organized and successful Dust mercenary corp working for your faction can thus shift the balance quite substantially. Until we enable ISK transfer between EVE and Dust the only way you can directly assist your mercenaries is through orbital bombardment."

Also: "In order to provide support in the form of orbital bombardment, the EVE capsuleer must be enrolled in FW. He will then be able to provide support for the team that's fighting on behalf of his faction (or allied faction) in corporation battles. If the EVE capsuleer is not a member of FW he will not be able to connect to the district or receive strike requests at all." Evil

I understand the lore behind FW and Dust, I've read Templar One (Great book). I personally don't want to fly in FW. So will there be future development for null sec Dust pvp and null pilot involvement?

TLDNR: Want to bombard console players, no option for non-FW pilots. Don't want to do FW. Will there be future null sec Dust development?

So basically you want to 0WN other players but prefer safety for yourself and don't want to get 0WN3D?

How disgusting.

well yeah. they're calling for bombardment. if there's a lack of support in that department, that's what it will take to get

<--this player

to play the role of air strike for the sake of console kiddies

Was pretty sure they said FW would be the starting point, and it would move outside that once the kinks were worked out. I don't believe it will ever move to high sec though, but would move to null eventually.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

even FW has no player contracts yet. Its all NPC driven as far as i understand. Once they are there it will be far more interesting.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

The original plan was for DUST battles in High Sec to be primarily NPC driven (read randomly generated battles). However that does not necessarily preclude the possibility of orbital bombardment.

No it didn't, I just haven't actually read anywhere that they intended to expand it outside high/low sec. I'm definitely looking forward to what is coming.

Yeah, because not wanting to join FW automatically means he wants complete safety. Roll

Well the key problem with FW is that it denies you access to a good deal of the rest of hi sec.

If you are on the Gallente side you can't really make trading runs to Jita.

You can solve this by creating other characters specifically for FW (like this character).

You really don't need more than a million sp chracter to be effective in a group and if you are doing orbital bombardments, you'll be flying a destroyer anyways.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

In name only. Go to PS3 store, buy Merc Pack, play DUST. There really isn't anything "closed" about that.
