For my fellow Amurricans on MD, how do you guys deal with TZ differences affecting your sell orders? I deal in items that tend to have a fairly high and consistent moving average, but none of my items move because Europeans undercut while I'm at work and can't access Eve.

Do you have any tips? Any work arounds you found works for you?

Tried that, but it seems most purchases for these items...hell for any item, occur during US working hours (8:00 a.m. ET - 5:00 p.m. ET).

If you're at a hub, someone is going to undercut/outbid you all the time. You could try one of the secondary hubs nearby, or find a mission hub if that's the type of items you're trying to offload.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

depends on the item your selling, I don't worry about it, I put it up for sale and if it sells while im gone cool, if not then I come back and penny it till its nighty night time.

Don't worry, it will eventually sell, don't expect hundreds of billions from sell orders every day from a single hub, penny when you can and remember, there's other people who want to sell their goods, don't be greedy, every one gets a share.

I haven't slept for 13 days Ugh

My clock rings every 5 minutes so I know it is time to update orders.

Make margin trading work for your and spread more orders. There is always an item somewhere going up or down. At some point the current price will pass over your orders.

What I did in Jita when starting out was I made a favorites list of almost exclusively items that had more than 1b isk/day volume and more than 100 units/day volume.

Look at the market graph, make sure their prices haven't spiked(inflated/manipulated), and place a buy order 0.01 over someone else.

Update once per day during the week days and preferably 3 or more times during the day on sat/sun.

Pretty much all you can do, i'm AUTZ so the busiest time for eve is when i'm asleep. If you are having that much difficultly selling your stock diversify (really sounds like a catchphrase) what you sell.
Also you can undercut by a fair amount before you go to bed/work, people will still undercut you but most will wait for your order to sell, especially if you have small amounts.

I haven't really traded for real in Jita, but I've traded in other hubs and updating your orders once every week day and 3 times during weekend seems like it won't really get you started? Sorry, I might be wrong, but the competition in Jita is like really though?

I recently moved back from Hek and Rens to Jita. I moved there first because I assumed that I wouldn't have to play that many ISK games. (I have only 1 hour max/weekday to play eve.)

But that was a false assumption; People will still undercut you by 0.01 ISK within a few minutes and because those ****-tier "hubs" have urst-low volume you just won't sell anything. It took me nearly one week to sell 100k EMP-M in Rens (and that only because I could play ISK wars over the weekend).

On the other hand in Jita I can sit for 60 minutes infront of eve, **** talk with my homeboys about smoking krokodil and play ISK wars for one hour and I certainly will get more **** sold than in 3 days in Rens.

Volume is everything.

I had about 4b/day of revenue updating once per week. Just need lots of orders at good price points.

I undercut by 10% of the difference between current market price and current cost, exactly once per day, and have no trouble grossing 80bil and netting 9bil a month. And if margins are too tight, I'll park items at a minimum level based on price trends and divert my resources elsewhere, and the parked items still sell well enough. For instance, I just moved 15 Prophecies at 20% for 125mil profit to a single buyer. So many supply factors cause production shortages that if you're logistically more agile than your competition, you will find half your profits are from golden moments like this.

I'm not in Jita, but Amarr has always served me well.

I'm still a scrub for certain thing. How do you determine what "cost" is?

Hey, not every European is jobless (for the moment)!

On to the matter at hand:
I update orders one last time before I head off to bed, and update again before I'm off to work.
During nighttime and worktime, I notice that some of my orders get filled, others are not.

Solution: Copious amounts of caffeïne, and a total lack of sleep suggested.

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
