Introduce isk tips to the forums

I have a simple idea for what I believe would increase the quality of the posts on these forums:

  • Replace or augment the forum like button with an ISK tip feature. This will transfer a user specified amount of isk from the logged in char's account to the poster. This is functionally equivalent to a character to character isk transfer in game.


This will encourage people to post better answers and allows people asking questions to reward useful posts with tangible rewards. It will also help with forum like spam.

As a side effect it may also encourage sharing of the real know how of the more intricate aspects of eve that I for one really don't have a reason to share otherwise.

Thoughts?

Or you could just log in and give the person in question ISK.

That's right, that extra effort, or rather its lack thereof is the whole point. You are trying to trivialize it while sarcastically pointing its significance at the same time... *sigh* at quality posting, the exact thing thats being proposed to be improved.

Not to mention that reading the forums doesn't necessarily mean that you can log into the game at the same time (e.g. browsing on another pc, library, work, etc.)

Instead of giving ISK why not add a new rating to everyones forum profile. To be displayed under the pic.

A test result. Some underworked management type at CCP could run up a quick timed quiz on differing aspects of EVE. The score gets posted next to your pic. Then when someone gives advice you have a measure to judge whether the person giving said advice knows their stuff or is a total BS'er who just likes hanging round the forums.

Options. Quiz is timed to prevent looking things up and therefore tests what you know now. You can only take it once every six months or so. And is purposefully made really hard so you know that anyone with a good score knows their stuff.
