I find that I spend too much time reading in the forums and searching the web about eve's industrial/trading side. But I'm not really complaining, most of them are fun to read and it's somewhat important to read them myself because of individual interpretations.

Spend time reading threads here in the forums' Science & Industry and Market Discussions, and maybe most of your questions will be answered already. To start off let me point you to:

IMO, what you're really looking for is a mentor, but most of the masters will be busy minding their own businesses.

Good luck.

Good mentors are worth their weight in gold...

Poor ones are a dime a dozen for a million different reasons, most of them ending with you waking up in a clone with an empty wallet.

I tend to agree with this guy , would like to add , trading is pretty simple . When i first started to play i had no clue how market worked or even what was those % red green percentage shown like " are you sure you wana sell it for 90% below regiona" etc .
Then i started to read really loads of it so everything absolutly everything written . Eve uni has even some of the best sound files with audio lesson by multi trilionare guy "sinqlaison" cough .
The problem now its so available and easy that anyone can be a trader with little effort , but that makes harder or lowers profit for the mass , still its possibile .

The true fortune comes out of personal research and abilities , and such cant be teached even if they are explained a good example would be : for example salvage drones were selling for 1000% profit margin ? or theyre mineral cost ? Same thing for destroyers , the stuff happens with some dedication you can get loads of money if youre really into it . There is less competition then "station trading" cos it requires more work .

Big jack pots come from " thinking out of the box" EVE allows such , but as Score said the idea itself is worth billions . Same example here the multi trilionare guy "sinqlaison" actually pays billions for such ideas (and he is the TRADER) , last or the one before bunch of ideas cost him 9 billions , and he said he invested in it 500b and its worth it . So lets face it a good idea bought for 9 billions with a potential capital of 500 billions pays itself waaaay more . For example profit how its made , here is an example

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BywKzjZACDzNN2Q5MzJiNjItYWUzNy00MzljLThlYzUtZTAyNTVhMjdkZWYx/edit?hl=en_US&pli=1

Credit to the same guy (i think youre teaching and that stuff is public so you dont mind ) I am not related to it using it only as example .
That said , there is a spreedsheet of how a investment of 1.3 Trillion isk can make you a net profit of 1.7 a year , Of course there is work to do , and finding 1.350.000.000.000 is still a chalenge . But the idea is there .

So trading is actually very easy to learn and the hardest thing to master , you can start station trading with a 1 day old alt . But to make real money you can play 10 years and still find new ways .

Depends what youre looking for , if its for a simple explanation how to make profit from t2 production there are plenty people who would share common known stuff . But if you want trading ... There is very much to do , you should consider first very very carefull the idea .

Anyway GL . if you wana chat feel free to find me ingame :)

Opportunities multiply as they are seized.

Idea's come and go, Idea's are a dime a dozen, because lets face it, if you don't have plenty of isk, you cant pull off the big apple style whool over paying customers faces.

Having the ISK on hand is 90% of the battle, doesn't matter how you make it, Be it PvE, PvP or Station Trading.

I'm a no nonsense trader. Let the constellation, region, system tell you what it wants and just show up with the goods and they'll get sold.

Don't get me wrong I've had delusions of grandeur of financing something similar to EOH or Somer blink. But I'd probably spend real life money to do that as it would basically mean I'd never pay for eve again.

But if I did that...where is my end game?
