Time for some more gifts?

I can play fine. I just cant chat with anyone

The problem is that some people need their chat windows to check if anything is goign on , i need it to do corp stuff on my other account = not playable

Yes, corp and alliance channels are kind of necessary in null

If it helps did not have the problem when initially logging on 5 hours ago. All 3 accounts were working. I logged off one alt and tried to bring up another about 45 mins ago and now I am getting that error on all 3 accounts no matter what I do. I know clearing cache and restarting apparently fixed some but nothing is cleaing mine right now.

You better dam reboot TQ, unable to do anything as I can't safely fly in nullsec without chat channels. I have 9 friggen accounts and all of them are useless. Fixed at downtime IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION.

HTFU and Leroy it, or here's a thought, use one of your alts as a scout.

Clearing your cache, relogging, and whatever else won't solve a dead node. Wait until the reboot at DT.

To be fair to all the people posting that those things aren't fixing it - the OP from CCP still says it will, and asks people to post if it doesn't.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to discount the problem. But we are using comms anyhow.

I logged in just fine after the patch, but I relogged once and it all went bosoms-up. Relogging a few more times did nothing. Eventually EVE started crashing rapidly, and then my computer crashed, and now everything is fine. I am baffled but happy not to have to click through fifteen windows every time I log in or try to join a chat channel.

FIXED for me at least.

I ran the eve online repair tool in the launcher.

Now that I am logged back in I am not having any problems.

I hope this works for others.

I tried re-login and this fixed nothing, I demand compensation. You are violating my play time.

Same here I tried to relog and I still get the error.

If re-booting the server would have fixed the problem they should have done it by now. These devs are just buying time because they do not know what the frak is going on.

Having this problem too.

CCP's advice from OP did not work.

Bloody annoying to say the least.

I can get two copies of the "The specified proxy or server node (863576) is dead" error to pop by selecting the icon to load chat channels. The error also generates when you try to load a chat channel (after you clear the two errors on screen).

Tried the solution posted. No effect. I can't join any public channels either.

There seems to be a work-around that I've verified with three different accounts on three different computers..
Open your chat channel window (you WILL get an error message again, ignore it) connect to some public channel and close your client.. reopen, and your Corp, Alliance, Local and that channel will be there.. proceed by adding the rest of your missing channels again without error.

a tip, open your chat logs inside of your My Documents/Eve/Logs/Chat Logs/ folder to remember the channels you don't remember how to spell..

Give this a try for those people still having the issues..

As usual, you're on crack Larodil. Didn't fix a thing :p

I decide to stop worrying about it and did a bit of wormhole exploration. Afterwards I quit the client, logged back in and all is well.

Just wanted to put it forward that I have just begun having this issue. Restarted client and PC, cleared cache and settings, no luck. Hope you get it fixed soon!

Thanks!

Had this issue with two accounts.

Tried to restart client : no fix
Tried clearing cache and restarting client : no fix
Tried clearing cache in game then running the EVE Repair tool in launcher : fixed on both accounts

Please try this and post results to assist the devs in tracking this down.
