Player built Pods

I've been bouncing this idea around in my head for a while now of player built specialty pods. Ones that give some sort of benefit to ships, but only a very minor buff. Say like a max 2% extra to armor hp or something along those lines. Call them T2 pods or what have you. You would still get your basic pod every time you get podded but you would have the option of buying these pods off the market. I just think it would be fun sense we build nearly everything else why not build our pods. I know it's a really vague a rough idea but that's why I'm posting it here. So we as a group can work to flush it out better.

There is nothing that can make a capsule any better that doesn't make it overpowered. If they are tackled, they will die. The only alternative would be to give them Warp Strength +2, which would mean you could never pop one without having high scan resolution, high tracking speed and high alpha (or have enough warp jammers to negate +2 warp strength).

Letting them give advantages to ships? That is overpowered. And it doesn't make capsules themselves any better.

How would it be over powered if the pod only gave a boost of 2% max? At least the way i'm picturing it like having a 11th implant. Sure it's not exactly a must have item but it would give just a tiny bonus to put you just over the top. I could see how the bonus might be OP on say a titan where 2% would ad 22400 armor to an avatar but really just add restrictions to keep it a sub cap bonus.

All the functionality, that could be included in these pods, is already in the game as implants.

The only change that pods need IMO is an interdiction nullifier. With this, there would be no need for added warp strength or anything like that, since you should be insta-warping.

I think that the pods should have a small cargo hold for personal items only that could tie into possible future Walking in Stations items.

For example: player made clothing, little trinkets, etc. This would also make such items destructable creating a maket. Of course, NEX items and the starter character creation clothes would always be available.

Yes... a wardrobe hold!
