Character Creator Enforces Unrealistic Beauty Standards?

Yesterday I made my 11th account (all paid for with cash, you're welcome CCP) and today started up the character creator to make another mining alt. I thought to myself "hey, I don't have any characters that look like me. That would be a cool thing to do", so I get to work sculpting an "Space-Avatar" that bears a resemblance to my person; almost immediately I find that this is downright impossible.

There are a few hairstyles depicting various stages of male-pattern baldness, but none with the spotty growth and combover that convey the same lack of confidence and grace in aging that I carry with me. I put the "scarring" slider up to 3, but found that it did not come anywhere near the level of acne scarring resulting from decades of junk food and regular sodas that is so endemic in the MMO population. Then, the most egregious violation: I put the "Muscularity" slider at 0% and the "Weight" slider at 100%, and found that this only turns my character from Roided-up Bodybuilder to Professional Swimmer; making a "Space-Character" with anything resembling my rubenesque-physique is downright impossible.

One thing I noticed about miners is they have an abundance of time. By doing such a trivial thing as resource gathering, yet treating it as a full-time profession they have an inordinate amount of time on their hands. most will go afk and do things around the house or play another game while 'playing' this one haha. Others do more harmful things, like post.

Although from the subjects and content Mr. Hurt seems to be one of the regular lurkers who troll the same topics over and over with a new face.

Wouldn't activating your clone put you right back at square one thus undoing all the unhealthy effects your life of overeating had caused?

Sounds like a sweet diet to me.

I wholeheartedly disagree that the char creator enforces unrealistic beauty standards. For one, I was able to rather accurately recreate my hideous face.

I'm going to stop this right here and ask good-looking players, like this guy here, to please check their Beauty Privilege at the door of the thread. This is an issue with myself and other typical MMO players.

I gave up when I noticed that you can't have a long goatee *ahem*neckbeard*ahem* on an EVE CharacterFaceThing

Uhhhmmm....24,000AD or close to it? Yeah...we're putting all our effort, now, into solving baldness and prolonging erections. So, I think that we will have done our finest to make ourselves look as pretty as possible, by then. Because superficial stuff seems to be so important to the human race, we have to get all that BS over with before we can even consider space travel. e__e

Besides, just look at the Jove...they're still tweaking their genepool.

You have to start out beautiful then slowly let yourself go by drinking too much quafe and eating too much livestock, while not undocking to get exercise for months at a time.

Now this is an idea (I only had to sort through 2 pages of troll posts to get to it); it would certainly increase immersion and Space-Roleplay opportunities, as well as provide a use for some of the more obscure planetary goods (I'm looking at you, Livestock).

I already have 29 of them (not including "Real" life). Did you not see me say I was making *another* Space-Alt, in my Original Post?

Look at my Unreal Beauty.

You get the point. I'm prettier than you.

Try pulling on the abs; you can make a pretty hefty character that way, and narrow the chect, pull it out, push it in, drop the gut and waist, ,, ... Both spectrum's are pretty well covered actually. You're just not going to end up with a toon pushing 700 pounds unless you imagine he/she is 8-10 feet tall.

Not suggesting you're anywhere near that weight; just using it as an example based on the biggest person I've ever heard of.

And now you know that in the future no spawn of yours will be a capsuleer.

Sorry you had to find out this way. Really.

Shocked

Is there a slider somewhere that will increase the amount of visible cheeto-dust in my neckbeard...... only thing thats missing from the charicter-creator.

Pirate

Oh, and OP-special-snowflake-miner; you should siriously consider staying in the station until you get it right. Days. Maybe months. Hell, don't settle for anything less than total perfection. Even if it takes you years.

Siriously though, you should just stop playing
Im just gonna put the tip in, just for a moment, just to see how it feels....

I don't wan to see ugly faces in the game - there are more than enough of them around me in real life. Thanks for beautiful avatars, devs!

P.S. I thought EVE pilots are immortal and don't age - unlike their owners.

All of these "rah rah its the future so there is no more Fat or Ugly" posts are totally ignoring the fact that maybe some of us are comfortable in our own bodies, and don't subscribe to the arbitrary beauty standards fed to us by Mass Media like "only one chin" or "no foreign flora or fauna living between fat folds".
