I am still waiting for the explanation why I can't just indiscriminately bombard the planets when I am forced to rely on some ******* beacon.

Somewhere in FW space:
EVE player: "Hey DUSTie, want some orbital support? Just 50 mil."
DUST player: "No thanks bro."
EVE player: "Ok. Well then pay me 50 mil anyway or I bomb you."
DUST player: "..."

Actually sounds kind of fun Lol

I think I'll be just as happy trolling the little worms, like "hi guys, how does it feel to be in a PC game?"

Capsuleers are now at the beck and call of earthworms, for we are unable to bomb anything without being told what to shoot at Roll

Tldr dust is coming. It's a fw thing so is otherwise safe to ignore, except you should probably put on a 30 day skill just in case.

Ps I'm already annoyed that it looks like dusties are highlighted special in chats as though they actually matter. Was that part of the Sony licensing agreement or something?

Ugh. Finding ships sitting at districts is going to be a hassle.

Do the Caldari DUST guys know what the warzone looks like yet?

e: congratulations, by the way. hope the transfer goes well

Temperate planets already have warp ins available off the planet right click for districts.

No advert is required, they just search and apply.

No, the EVE players only need to be in faction warfare if they want to provide orbital support. We'll have more on that in an FAQ released later this week.

Will this effect the server PCU?

So... answering a couple of questions without voiding the NDA that is around Dust:

1 - Keyboard and Mouse are supported by PS3... make conclusions from that as you will.
2 - Orbital strikes need to be requested and a target needs to be "painted", as you saw in the Dust demo that is floating around. So no... grievers can't just do a drive by on a planet and rain down death and destruction. So, while Hulkageddon may work, Dustpocalypse won't.

So, here are my questions for the Devs.

1 - Please confirm that Dust characters will be reset on the 10th.... including all skillpoints accrued, K/D ratio, ISK gained, and any AUR refunded?

2 - While ISK transfers won't be permitted (damn, there goes running a couple of level 4s to pay for my skillbooks), will there be Dust items added to the in-game EVE market that EVE users will be able to build and sell on their own? Or will dropsuits and items in Dust still be NPC-seeded?

We are tracking EVE and DUST players with separate PCUs. You can decide for yourself if the combined total contributes to the New Eden population, we certainly think it does.

I hope the incoming FAQ finally answers some of the "What's in it for me as an EVE player?" questions that have been floating around.

Without isk transfers (I can see how this would offset some balance) between the platforms,
and risking a ship in orbit that isn't fully suited to pvp, the eventual possibility to swing a FW system more easily doesn't sound appealing to a single pilot.

Reset happens on the 10th yes.

Items remain NPC sold as allowing EVE players to build them effectively creates an ISK flow which as stated we are not ready to do just yet. As you might know though, we are CCP have a special obsession with player driven economies so expect to see more on this in later releases.

hope you can drop the NDA soon after this event

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

EVE players have a combat record through killmails and killboards.

Will Dust corporations and/or players have some kind of viewable record so we can see their successes and failures on the battlefield?

This is more than just snarky voyeurism. If you're actively involved in FW, for example, you'll want to know which corporations and soldiers are the most successful so you can provide them with more orbital support, finances, etc.

Yes, but the difficulty is searching districts for a spaceship you saw on longrange scan towards the planet - there can be quite a few of them. (and I haven't seen an overview setting for the district beacons to point scan at?) Grideris says that the overview will show a district that has a spaceship at it, which sounds interesting. A bit like how plexes work, I guess.
