Is there any way that CCP could make a Mobile APP so you can do skills on the go? I don’t care if I have to pay for it. I just want the convenience of being on vacation and whipping out my phone plugging in a new skill without having to open my laptop, turn it on, and load eve up just for a 5 min process of adding a new skill.

Comments?

If you find yourself in a fair fight in EvE your tactics suck!!!

Maybe when they change the API but not a dev priority imo.

Id wager that since corps routinely insist that players give comprehensive api keys and lots of morons regularly give them to dead end highsec corps, ccp will avoid letting crest programs have that kind of control to stop people from harvesting keys and using them for shinnanigans.

Or they could require the app using the API to log in with the user's account before amking a change insetad of only needing access the the info stored in teh API key.

I, also, approve of doubling down on potential security flaws. If a jobs worth botching, it's worth screwing till it's raw.

NO.

And since I am not a goon, I will actually explain why I say NO.

EVE Online is about Content. Content is generated by players actually LOGGING in and Playing the game. If you were able to use an app to update skills without ever logging into the game, the game would die. A large portion of the player base would just update skllls remotely without actually going into the game.

CCP understands this and that is why they have resisted all requests for remote skill changes.

IMHO.

@ Revman zim I disagree people still need to play to get the isk for there plexes and what not, it would not take away from the game. Yes less people will be logging for the 5-10min to drop new skills in but they would be still be active accounts.

If you find yourself in a fair fight in EvE your tactics suck!!!

Because a logged on player easier socializes with others in game then when he/she is not.

I would submit that once someone logs on to just "update a skill", the game sucks the player in and usually you find yourself several hours later asking... "what the hell happened?"

This. Not only did hit the nail on the head but blew my mind that skittles came flying out... true story on both accounts.

And I'd submit there are just as many or more people out of those who just log in to update a skill that do so because they literally don't have time to do anything else in the meantime. Either way, sounds like something that would require market research to be sure about rather than assume and even then, people have different viewpoints. Either way, probably not ultimately necessary unless they had some interns to throw on the project or something.

No. If you want to Eve, then you have to do it the way everyone else does it. bathrobe on, underwear optional, and with or without a cats rear end in your face.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I play a few hours at night after work but log in every morning for a minute to make sure my skill queue is set for the day while I'm away. While I can see the appeal of an app for some, I really wouldn't have a need for one given how I play right now.

Eve is too crowded. We should reward people for not logging in.
