As for insider trading, as long as the goons don't rub CCP's nose in it, "limited" insider trader will be tolerated due to the difficulty/impracticality for CCP to prosecute it. Especially with bots, RMT, and keeping subs up generally being more important than virtual fraud with virtual money.

Based on historical evidence, limited insider trading will get you jacked up pretty badly. (Going by the two CSM's who have done so.)

Having a financial director/CSM will probably reduce the amount of market fuckery we can do because our best market ******* won't be allowed to **** anymore.

Long live Goons tbh.
I love what they bring to the game, and they have some of the most creative/forward thinking players in the game, at least who also have a PR department to get the masses raving about them as well.

Specifically what I love, is the fact that 1 goon comes into my home system in HS, and every player i know IRL, docks up, most of the people in the system dock up. Bunch of pussies, I simply reship and try to find them hoping to have some fun :)

Nope, you're in a goon pet corporation. You may have gotten the ~1m in loot the Goonwaffe newbies ejected from their rifters when they realized they didn't need to sell it.

This "pet corporation" is resposible for bringing high sec to its collective knees.

Does it make you angry knowing that goons have had members on the CSM for years now?

You brought hisec down?
Funny all I remember was going and hunting you guys down then shooting and looting you.
Then you all ran once CW2 came and I have been to lazy to hunt for you again.
Though since most of the hisec ganking is now done via wardec, I would say that you failed.

Anyways I dont see this being a bad thing.
The bigger issue is that no one else is able to head an equal or close in size group in opposition.
Though that has more to do with the complain after the fact than willingness to work for stuff.

Perhaps you missed the many threads about freighter ganking.

Perhaps you missed the many threads about miner ganking which led to massive barge ehp boosts.

Perhaps you missed the many threads about ganking ice miners.

Perhaps you missed the many threads about being perma-trapped in wardecs.

Glancing at the front page on the esteemed forums of EVE Online I can see a new thread about CSM candidates. Highsec seems to be concerned, about a great many things.

If you're so concerned about a Goon taking power the best thing you can do is seat him on the CSM, where he'll have Internal Affairs all up in his pants sniffing around for even the slightest whiff of bullshit.

Consider a CSM seat much like an ankle bracelet that YOU can slap on yourself as a voter. Do you really want this monster running loose unsupervised? Twisted

tbh I'd take a Goon over pretty much anyone claiming to be a "high-sec" representative. It's good to know they're running someone.

James 315 is considering running as the highsec candidate. I think we can all agree he's an expert on the subject.

It's true, I am considering it. If I determine that holding a position on CSM will best serve the agenda of the New Order, I will run and do my utmost to win a seat on the CSM.

Nevertheless, I must say that Mynnna would obviously be a very qualified candidate. OP has nothing to fear from Mynnna being on the CSM, and perhaps much to gain. We need more people with solid credentials being elected, not less. Smile

My reactions were very similar.

Certainly if CCP was such a great catcher of in-game advantages Chribba's report on bots would have not shown the results as it did no?

God, you think people complain about powerbloc voting and stacked elections now? It'd be hysterical if they gave us the ability to cast a +1 and a -1 on each of two candidates as we saw fit.

If the people vote for them then they have every right to be there.

That's what we sacrifice for a democratic system of governance, but I'm here to warn people against electing more Goons to the CSM, not advocating the dismantling of the institution.

Can you cite an actual example of a goon breaching the NDA for in-game advantage?

Or are you just one of those guys that treats goons like the term was spelled with a c instead of a g?
