We already have a de facto frontline based on how the docking rights work.

The easiest places to attack/defend are those near where your own forces are based, and vice versa for the enemy. This reflects real world concepts of supply and logistics. We can attack other places that are deep behind the lines as they exist now, but it is much harder for us to reship or reinforce the attackers there because it's deep in enemy territory. So right now, the activity centers around the docking systems that one can control and ones that you actually move into.

I don't think we need to introduce some artificial mechanic when there are already effects brought on by the de facto frontline system we have now.

I agree that articfical mechanics are always bad in eve, where I disagree is that the frontline is near where you can dock. We did Rakapas from 0 to 100 from a POS.

Not sure I really see a need for a front line to be enforced by a hard and fast mechanic.

If you want to encourage people to battle over a front line then rewards could be scaled as such, Lower LP rewards the further number of jumps from an owned system including Highsec. Or If rewards were a tier level higher in systems adjacent to owned systems. This may give the Caldari an option to earn Tier2 adjacent to their last few systems/Highsec systems without enough system upgrades.

Perhaps also a system completely cut off could have a higher LP upgrade Tax emphasising it being blockaded.

If only system upgrades were worth it by themselves, we're they not supposed to change?

While I see the good intentions of the OP (and thanks for the write up on the war btw) I'm not really sure how it can be done without farming exploits, its really a love/hate relationship What?

if DnD and LO would stop doing the seventy minus one then they could fight each other and get all the capital fights they could dream of.

Neither of them want to take a risk though so vOv

There are already well placed neutral low sec systems people can easily do this from.

These can already do the exact same job as a 'seed' system.

Hope you Gals are enjoying Hyk while CERBY and ASIO. still let you have it.

Nothing lasts forever.

The Church of Awesome and Cerby's Christmas pilgrimage(or drinking holiday - call it what you wish) to the holy lands of the mighty Amarr is almost over.

Hykanima? That cesspit in the middle of nowhere? I don't think anyone even lives there.

This is the worst idea that could possibly happen to FW. You want blob warfare which is why you want a front line. Lets keep in mind that not everyone in this game want's yet another sov war that revolves around who can bring the biggest blob.

Yea I remember those type of elitism comments from SoTF guys. I remember them bitching that they couldn't get a fight and I mentioned that I usually run 2 Drakes all over low sec every night looking for fights (hardly ever finding any), so come find me. The response was, "unless you are flying two Vindicators" it's not worth undocking".

Why fight anyone whom can compete with you, when you can blue them instead and be BFF's.. They don't want to actually risk losing fights, they just want to fight a bunch of low skill point players while they fly fancy ships. If they wanted challenging fights, vs other groups capable of fighting what they can field, they surely wouldn't hang around an area with loads of low skill point players flying Merlins & Condors.

SoTF has Snuff Box a few jump away.. Shadow Cartel a bit further plus a hand full of other groups capable of bringing decent fights yet how often do they try to get fights with them? (I'm betting never) DnD doesn't want those kind of fights, because they are too challenging, they want to be like all the other so called l33t PVPers and fight off hoards of unorganized & under skilled players while flying fancy ships.

They are all BFF's, when we fought Gals over Aiv ages ago when the Sov changes first happened, who did SoTF bring to help them fight Caldari? Non other that WB & Shadow Cartel. Of course they can't fight each other because they are all cool bro's. Lol

Why is it do you think all of these groups are the same mentality, they recruit, recruit and recruit loads of high skilled players and then they just titian blob gank stuff that has no real chance of fighting back.

Even the Titian deal SoTF love to brag about, was not a fight it was a gank. They didn't go into that expecting to duke it out with PL, they went in hoping they had enough DPS to kill a titian before they lost too many dreads.

Hey guys pro tip, we do almost the same thing with Catylists & Hulks in high sec and it costs a hell of a lot less, It's called suicide ganking and it doesn't make us l33t PVPers.

Instead of having "seeding" systems which as the Snuff Box dude pointed out would be pirate paradises, why not simply make any system adjacent to hi-sec capturable?

Let me see if I have this right. If I am at tier 1 and I run a novice, I get 5k LP. If an enemy dplexes this system at 50% contest, he gets 3.75k LP * tier 4 bonus 150% = 9,375k LP. The more the contest level the better it gets for the dplexer.

So if that is correct I figure that offensive plexing for me at tier 1 is basically giving money to stabbed farmer alts (if you haven't seen them you must not have undocked and flown around lately)

So for me as a solo pilot that looks for pvp and helps out with plexing here and there for my militia, plexing is actually helping my enemy and I can't get fights because dplexing is so easy and so profitable farmers occupy it not pvpers.

Even trying to plex down enemies upgrades is useless. I plex a novice for 5klp, 10% of that is against enemies upgrade level so that's 500 lp. Enemy does any dplex for ~10k lp. Even with a 70% tax rate they can afford to spend 3k LP against my 500 LP hit. That means I have to run more than 6 plexs for every enemy plex to start to chip away at their upgraded systems.

The winners should certainly get an advantage for all their hard work, I'm just pointing out that it seems to me like my best bet is to *not* run plexs for my faction as it is counter productive. Apologies for derailing the smack thread :)
