Skill not completing

I wasn't sure where to put this as I couldn't find a bug forum.

Basically I've having a very serious bug.

I was training Heavy assault missiles to level 3. However upon completion the skill remained on COMPLETION IMMINENT for a few minuets and the next skill in my queue would not start.

I pressed apply and my next skill started. however heavy assault missiles 3 never completed. it has now been removed from my queue however it appears to be roughly a 3rd completed on my character sheet.

I have now relogged the skill currently training is still training.

However Heavy assault missiles currently shows -142,153/24,000 sp, and the sp is going down. the white progress bar currently goes all the way across the character sheet in the opposite direction. The character sheet also shows 2 skills to currently be training.

I have opened a petition, but I'm freaking out my sp is draining in front of me.

File a bug report, wait for GM response. Hope you get some free SP to cover the lost training time!

Wait until the petition is actioned.

You should also file a Bug Report with a screen shot of the skillpoints that are running away from you. Photographic evidence and whatnot.

I was joking in another thread about going backwards in time. Apparently I wasn't actually joking.

You figured out how to untrain heavy missile? What's the problem?

Serious note though, chances are it's UI and not actually an issue, though if it's all borked it could be diffcult to add queue so they might give you some SP if time is lost.

I didn't realise I could make a bug report, however I have now made one so hopefully I'll get this sorted out soon.

there was another thread like this a couple days ago, think someone suggested removing the skill from your queue, then putting it back in and applying. don't recall if the OP in that thread said if it worked or not.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

The thing is I would be scared of doing this because the skill is supposed to have completed to level 3 and I wouldn't want to loose that.

i removed skills a lot of times. and i never lost training time.

I had the exact same thing happen about 2 weeks ago. I only noticed when I activated EVEMon and it said the skill was paused and that just was not correct.

Indeed, the skill was just sitting there unmoving whether or not I hit Apply or Pause.

Solution was to remove then re-insert the skill 3 times, then it finally took and completed itself a few seconds later.

No bug report filed as I assumed this would affect more than just myself, or to rare to bother with. Apparently not.

I wouldnt worry about loosing a level 3 skill, whats that, like a few hours?

Anyway, I hope your bug report gets you a fix.

Actually, I would imagine this would be a case where you might have been podded and your training time didn't update, so your client was out of synch with the actual server clock. Unless you weren't podded, in which case I suggest filing a petition, but be aware it may take some time to be finished as we're still under a post-holidays backlog.

Confirming that removing then re-inserting with skill fixes most problems. Big smile

No podding. Happened literally at random. Will file petition if it occurs again, but God I hope not. Lost at least 28 hours of training till problem found.

I've had this happen before. Twice. One time, I had about two hours open on my skill queue, and was trying to add a new one and it kept telling me that it couldn't because my skill queue was full Roll Anyway, my solution (which worked both times):

1. remove all skill training, exit game

2. log back in, re-apply skill training.

It's pretty much the equivalent of a reset. See if this works for you. In the meantime, still file a bug report, because even if there's a functional work around, anything that requires a work around is probably still a bug.

HAD the exact same problem.

Relogged, paused, unpaused, removed the skill. Now it works.

What i did before: Jumpclone'd.

So what I suggest: After Jumpcloning (what I assume u did) remove all skills, relog. Add skills and start training.

No jumpcloning involved either. IT literally was out of the blue as far as I can tell. After Retribution release.
