Hi all,

Currently I am in a point where I can pretty much get any of the strategic cruisers in about the same time. After this new patch what is the best T3 Cruiser in your opinion.

Thanks for your help!

Any fits you would like to share? I was told before that Legion is the best because of the ammo issues if you plan to stay long time in a WH and have no POS.

Go in the WH run sites and get out. Hopefully meet a WH corp at some point and join them. But something that in case I get trapped for a long period of time I still have something to fight back and enough space to carry stuff.

I saw a guy soloing in a Legion the other day. I couldn't get any DPS online so I literally just had to watch. He was salvaging as he went that surprisingly worked ok it seemed.

So skip the PVE and just go solo proteus like he said.

Yeah the Tengu is still the king for PvE when solo or in small groups. If you are aiming for C1s and C2s you can use other cheaper ship types to get some experience first. TBH joining a WH corp is more fun than try to do everything by your self

Proteus for following reasons:

600DPS with its guns while cloaky
50m3 dronebay (25m3 bandwidth) ECM drones let you escape when your tackled.
High buffer tank.
Spare midslot for web, more jams, cap booster etc.

Tengu for bearing obviously

Don't try and make one t3 do two jobs, just don't. You will fail miserably at both.

If you want solo pvp, get a proteus strictly for pvp.

If you want pve, either get a different proteus for that purpose only, or get a tengu.

T3's do not do well when you try and make them do two jobs that have very different requirements.

If you want Proteus fits go scroll around the Ships & Fittings section of the forums for a tick. I know Jack Milton and myself have commented on at least half a dozen threads each in there that contain fittings and uses for Proteus's.

solo proteus is going to battle to kill a well fit PVE tengu. I was jumped in a C4 by a solo proteus in my ultra blinky tengu with a pithum a medium SB, 67 k ehp and 2k tank... proteus never got my shield red for more than 1 rep cycle while I chewed through is huge buffer.. he warped off as I had no way to hold him.. and I still have my tengu.. sold the pithum to get a NM..

Yea honestly, even as much as I love a cloaky proteus, solo you are still limited as to what you can engage. Given the tank and resists of most PVE T3's (like the tengu) a proteus will have a tough time solo.

Maybe non-T3's like a passive drake

Personally that's why my favorite solo ship is still generally a stealth bomber. Yea I'm mostly ganking squishy stuff. But it can still be satisfying putting 2 volleys into a salvaging thrasher that drops 100mil of sleeper loot.

[edit]

adding a buddy in a cloaky neut legion however can make tons of difference.

A the above dude stated, having an alt or a friend in a cloaky neut legion is awesome.

People hate me for this, but I use my alt in a cloaky probe legion with an armor resist link, mindlink and some unbonused neuts. It might not be optimal but it does what I want it to, call the fit **** as much as you want. But atleast I don't have to waste slots on my proteus, plus I can tackle anything instantly that I come across while scouting. The amount of times you suddenly have an Orca with light support decloak on a wormhole you land on is actually higher than expected.

Thanks to all for the replies! The focus I am looking for this T3 is making ISK and having funs doing sites in WH and if i see someone in WH other than me I GTFO. I am not yet in the position to drop tons of ISK in PVP in really expensive ships. To satisfy my appetite for tears I PVP in null in cheaper ships :P But my final goal is to make more ISK to be able to PVP more and enjoy the sweet taste of tears :)
