Hello I quit a few years ago but decided to reactivate since a few friends decided to get EVE while it was on the Steam sale.

Since then,I haven't been able to find anything we can do together that benefits us. They have just finished their tutorial mission chain and are now working on getting to cruisers so they can do some new missions and better payout. They just started so they are still on Level 1 Missions's and we can do Level 2's if I help. However, It's just not profitable for either of us to be splitting 50-100k rewards when they need funds for buying Cruisers and fitting them, etc. So.. what exactly can we do together?

Another thing is, what can I do when they aren't on? I currently do some L4 missions in my starting Raven and it definitely pays well. The only problem is that everything is just so slow to it. Targets 130km away from the warp in, warp accelerators 30-40 km away, all while this Raven moves at a snail pace of 110m/s. Kill me already. I have been having a lot of fun with my Hawk assault ship when I brought it a long for missions with my friends. However, is there anything profitable I can do with it? L2 missions are a pittance to how much money even goes into an assault ship. I've really only done missions all the time, what is something rewarding I can do with this? Or maybe something different than mission running. Thanks for any input.

Get them in destroyers to salvage your 4s as you go, they'll also be good for frig destruction, gain large amounts of isk and speed up your process.

The corp boost will also help them when they are ready for higher missions, and as you'll need to take the incoming will be good practice to start working in fleet properly and understanding the risks

PvE wise i would suggest incursions, since they a better versions of Missions (More fleet oriented, better AI, and probably the best way to make isks in eve out of 0.0)

Sadly i can't recommend it to you untill you guys get 1 or 2 logistic ships, and tech 2 or faction battleship/T3 cruisers with everyone on omi-tanking mode. When you get there, incursions are probably the most fun and isk profitable activity you can get.

Untill than, you will have to do missions, but getting to level 3 missions can go quite fast if you guys focus on the same corporation standings. They are more challenging and isk profitable. leve4's will be the next step, and while they aren't as profitable as incursions, they are still a very good way to make isks even with friends (Take one ship with a salvage module with you).

As for PvP, you can start the fun right away. Go play the bait in lowsec, and keep your friends one system away. Try to catch other frigates, and cruiser, 4-5 frigates will do wonders against them. Battlecruiser are an option, but it requires some level of experience.

If you are looking for some fun, i definitly recommend to go for the PvP route even if that means loosing some ships. PvE is pure isks farming.

[i]FiS should be the priority, but WiS should not be burried!

Well, to answer the questions in the title:

"What can we do?": Depending on your numbers, anything. If you're only a small gang, not so much, but still a lot. I can recommend that some of you train to use Salvagers, heck, one or more should have skill to fly a Noctis for when you get Level 4 missions. Aside from that, training for Exploration only takes a few days to get good skills (2-4 days and you'll have level 3-4 in all the Astrometrics skills), which will allow you to probe around and find valuable stuff. However, the value of that stuff seems to be falling as more people become able to use probes. If you only want to fight, go to low-sec and do a bit of PVP-ing

"What can I do?": Not much alone, and yet a lot. Actually, you can do the same as above, just slower.

Some ideas for alternate activities here: What to do in EVE Online.

In the meantime, if one of your friends can fly a vigil they can web and target paint targets to help your Raven blow things up faster. Take a look at the ships they can fly, each of them will have some feature that can be utilised for L4s: the most important things for you as a Raven pilot will be target signature radius & speed and regeneration of your shields.

In terms of getting your Raven to move faster, you can add an afterburner. To get more range, investigate the missile projection and missile bombardment, along with long range targeting.

Hope this helps!

Get them into BC quickly. Join some corp in 0.0 and shoot belt rats. If you got an alt have him in a pod to find the next spawn while your kill the last one.

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

Lots of good suggestions here. From personal experience I think you'd have the most fun just going to low-sec and shooting things. You'd be surprised by how entertaining a simple frigate fight can be. And as other have said before, when your friends are in game, you might be able to kill larger ships with a couple of frigs.

I would recommend getting at least one of your friends trained in probing, that way you can go after low-sec mission runners (yep, they do exist) – their loot can be quite lucrative and if you manage to ransom them there's good ISK in that.

That said, this will probably ruin your security status, but I have yet to meet somebody who regretted getting into low-sec PvP.

Hello Artemis Dagon,

Another idea which comes to my mind is that you go and try some PVP. You as heavy hitter (maybe in a battlecruiser) and your friends as tacklers in frigates. Probably you could even throw in occasionally some electronic warfare. The good thing about this combination is that everyone is not only useful but necessary for the whole plan to succeed, no one is useless there!

And then you can sit together, ponder about good gang setups and discuss your previous experiences.

Frigates for your friends and a battlecruiser for you are not that expensive, especially when you can run level 4 missions. Maybe you'll give it a try.

Go to low sec and become pirates! 1-2 of you in a low SP Jamming frigate (griffin ?) the rest fit with Webs, scrams and guns will make short work of frigates and evne some cruisers. Go forth and conquer!

It might be worth taking a look at EvE University - they are specialists at getting new players into a tackle role, as well as providing you many, many more people to fleet up with when friends aren't around. Everything from spider-fleet mission running to fighting off war targets from the strange people that wardec the uni. There is also good tutorial classes run for learning other parts of the game.

Another thought, if you're all loitering in the same system is to look at Planetary Interaction - a couple of days of training will allow you to set up a reasonable passive income, make buying those cruisers/battle cruisers that little bit quicker!

I second the suggestion of getting them into lvl 4 missions with you. You go in first and get the agro and have them come in in frigs/destroyers and kill all the NPC frigs while you kill the BS/BCs. That will make them MUCH more ISK then running lvl 1s and it'll also be more fun too. I would suggest having one person in a salvaging destroyer cleaning up afterwards too, there's big ISK to be made with salvaging 4s (big ISK for young players atleast).

For flying with them you could get them into supportive roles and run 4's together.
One can get an Osprey for shield transfers or Augoror for energy transfers to help you tanking so you could switch some tanking module for an afterburner for example.
The other one could be sort of tackling some enemy ships. That would be webbing and target painting cruisers so you hit them well better with your cruise missiles. Target painting with a bellicose would be a good option too, as well as additional damage using drones from Vexor or Arbitrator. These two could stay close to you and still support your tanking abilities.
That teamwork would not only be fun but also teach you basic PVP stuff: working as a team with different roles, support and tackling duties.

For flying solo I'd suggest getting a faster ship if you can't stand the slowness of your current one.
If you have plenty of ISK you could try a Scorpion Navy Issue. It has both a higher base speed and the ability to be equipped with afterburner far easier than a Raven.
A more eccentric try would be cross skilling into flying a Cruise Missile Typhoon. Without much gunnery and drone skills it has got less damage output capabilities, but it's very fast and therefore fun to fly.

The way I interpret that, it sounds like you say that it's only fun to fly fast ships. I may be wrong, but that's how I read it.

If you can all fly Cruisers, you can pretty much do anything. Have one or two flying in Mining/Support Cruisers, and the rest in damage-dealers, and you can take down anything with ease (though you may get killed a few times, but take that as a chance to learn from what went wrong). I haven't ever tried PVP myself, but judging from all the Forum-posts where people talk about how easy PVP is, I think I can still help here. If you want a bit more safety while PVPing, add a Blackbird to your fleet. It can take away the enemy's DPS by simply preventing them from targeting you.
