Will i be able to do level 4 missions in a Machariel? Thank you for input i know i have very low sp. Also, if you could tell me the skills i could benefit the most right now from, that would be great. I pretty much know everything i need to train but was wondering what is most beneficial for me right now. currently training electronics to 5, lol.

Thank you

For Mach you could benefit the most from skills allowing you to actually sit in Mach.

Get EveMon and see what skills you need for Mach and for most common L4 fits. And then set all those skills to V and start training.

Your success will probably involve a very expensive explosion. Start with t1 battleships with those skills at least, don't jump straight into a shiny ship.

Read mission reports. Follow direction and you'll be fine.

Finish off training Minnie BS to L5, and getting T2 Projectiles to L4
Also get the projectile gunnery support skills to 4
Then start doing the same for Gallente Battleship & T2 Hybrids
finish off by training more of the required tank/cap/fitting skills and you should be good to go .. in about 4months to 1yrs time.

none of the above is in any specific order, they are just things you need to get done.

only Train BC to 5 if you plan to take advantage of the bonus SP giveaway, when ccp finally get around to changing how BC training works ... sometime this year apparently, if you are make sure you have all 4 cruiser skills to L3 and bc L5.

If you can do the following.. then yes,

Both BS to 4,
Large projectile to 4,
T2 tank,
T2 gyro's
T2 TE's
Run fit with 100mn AB cap stable, without XL SB on.
Gunnery support to 4, the skill for cap for turrets are irrelevant for a mach,
Use T2 lights, probably never need them.. I barely use drones in my mach.

If you use faction gyro's and faction ammo.. sites will go a lot quicker. You can use your LP for the faction gyro's.

EDIT -- Most import thing about a mach is how you fly it.. don't just sit still or you will die and make sure you understand how to take advantage of your fall off ranges.

Go test on the test server if you worried about loosing it.

Why the hell would he need both of the BS skills at V?

IV is fine but T2 guns and tank absolutely necessary. Also t2 small drone is advisable.

as you may have already guessed from the less than serious answers, you will not be happy with the machariel just yet. the good news is that your drone skills are good enough to fly a mach. the bad news is that everything else is not. you are also missing the gallente battleship skill, so you cannot even sit in a machariel for at least a week or so.

i would advise you to spend a few months more to get your capacitor, navigation, gunnery and also your social skills to a more solid state. for example you will want:
- advanced weapon upgrades to at least 4
- large autocannon spec to 3 or 4
- engineering, energy management and energy systems operation at 5
- about half a dozen navigation skills that i will not even recite at 4 or 5
- both battlesjip skills at least at 4, better at 5
- gunnery support skills like surgical strike, trajectory analysis etc. at 4 or 5
.
.
.

as you can see, there is still a long way to go. now, if this were a navy scorpion i'd say you can jump in it early and just overtank it until you get the rest of the skills up. unfortunately, tank is not a strength of the machariel, so using it without the appropriate skills invites a very expensive lossmail. therefore, i would advise you to start with a maelstrom. it has less offensive power but a stronger tank and is ten times cheaper than a mach.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Guess you have a bunch sp short to fly a Machariel.

t2 guns not necessary.. I use T1 meta 4's and have no problems. T2 drone is essential (in any battleship) as is the T2 tank

I have been doing missions and incursions in a mach for a couple years now. Drones rarely get used, guns are of the utmost importance for training. I now do 1400 dps and hit comfortably out to 80km with auto cannons. So yes T2 guns and Mini BS to V.

Of course you can get in it with meta 4 guns and a minimum skills but if you haven’t trained the Shield skills thoroughly you won’t be able to tank big spawns, if you haven’t train the gunnery skills on top of that then you won’t do the damage your expecting and that begs the question why spend over a Billion on a hul that is no better than a 200 mil maelstrom with the wrong skills.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Yes, get to where missions are easy, or at least smooth running in the Mael before making the jump.

This pretty much, a maelstrom with a lovely rack of 800mm ACs will be much better for you in the short term, and aside from anything else it's a great mission ship and you'll feel all the improvements as you raise your gunnery and tank skills.

And any shiny mods you feel like sticking on it will be right at home on a mach once you make the jump.
