A role for the new Tier3 Battlecruisers

These ships, from what I understand, can fit battleship size weapons.

CCP should give these ships a very special purpose with unique weapons that can only be fitted to this hull.

I propose capital ship weapons which do massive damage to super caps & Titan class vessels. I know there are changes to the capital ships, particularly with regard to what Titans can target but with careful thought this role could be workable & immensely important to how the mechanics of cap ship killing can be played out.

I'm looking for the underdog to have a chance against the behemoths of Eve.

They will already have a role.

Popping the POS's of people who previously thought that Class 1's were immune to such shenanigans.

Any other roles are simply icing on the cake.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Cheap **** no. T3 Battlecruisers price should be competative with Pirate Faction Battleships. Like 650 to 700mill just for the Hull before the sub systems. it better not have interdicton NullificationEvil.

Hoping the new T3"s gets the role of field Command ship just with some DPS.

They're not T3 (Tech 3).
They're Tier 3 (Like the Maelstrom or the Rokh are Tier 3 Battleships).

There's a significant difference.

I'm pretty sure the new tier 3 BC's already have a role. Its speed/agility with high alpha from large weapons (most likely not a full rack, but rather 4-5).

What im really interested in is the mid and low slot arrangements.

I really hope to use them in WH's.

Right now many people run RR tengue's and they can tank a lot and dish decent damage out to 100+km. They also do not have the mass so can go in and out of WH's.

Right now no other ships can tank, do long range dps and remot rep like the tengue.
But I hope the tornado will change that.


Bigger guns will give decent range
Battle cruiser hull *should* out tank the tengue
small mass

don't expect it to RR thoguh it would work with rather than replace the tengue.
I also expect it to cost a lot more than a standard BC.

Right now I fear they won't have the tank of the tengue and thus not be usefull to me. They need good dps and better tank than a drake and that would be OP unless the ship cost a lot.

So hoping it is expensive...

Dont expect them to be your next drake/tengu. Theyve already stated they have gimped tanks - devoting system resources to fitting large weapons. Gimped means their tanks are crap.
