So i have decided i want to fly a Dread as my current goal for eve. now i know that's probably a year or 2 off skill wise. but it is something i want to aim for. From reading about the different dreads, it seems I should train for a Moros only and call it a day. tho i do like the rev a ton. The only time i will even take one out of the hanger is to go fight a fleet battle with my corpis/allys.

Are there any other Dread pilots that can give me some advice. Like what secondary skills to train besides the ones to fly and shoot it, and tank of course.Big smile

Pretty much have your capacitor, fitting, gunnery, navigation, and armor skills maxed out (or close to).

Bear in mind that Dreds cannot use stargates, have trouble tracking battleships (if close enough, a battleship moving at its regular top speed can "speed tank" a dred), can almost never hit anything smaller than battlecruisers, and have no point defense ability (you won't be able to swat away that frigate that's pinning you down).

Nav skills.
Jump Drive Cal V is the goal.

Also:
I like the Nag. Selectable damage and 4 hardpoints.
And you get Minmatar BS V on the way up Smile

If you are interesting in capitalizing on a Moros pilot, I'd recommend the following:

> Gallente Dreadnaught V
> Jump Drive Calibration V
> Capital Hybrid Turrets V
> Tactical Weapons Reconfiguration V
> Capital Repair Systems V
> All Gunnery Support Skills to V

- Rapid Firing
- Controlled Bursts
- Motion Prediction
- Sharpshooter
- Surgical Strike
- Trajectory Analysis

> All Armor Support Skills to IV/V
- On Tanking Skills
> All Capacitor Related Skills to V
- Energy Management
- Energy Systems Operation
- Warp Drive Operation

Hopefully this helps, and if I missed something, I'm sure someone can add to the list. Fly safe :)

If you don't have corpmates that can teach out how to dread

You don't want to dread.

Awesome thanks for the info everyone. As for the Naglfar, thought that was one of the less used/wanted dreads since it has split weapon systems?

I disagree with some of the points in this thread.

JDC 5 is only necessary if you fly with a group of people who all have JDC 5, chances are as the OP is posting here this isn't the case so JDC 4 is probably going to be fine.

Capacitor skills, particularly management 5 are less essential is you are going for a cap boosting tracking dread, which i guess you might be for the moros.

Nobody has mentioned the drugs skills! Drop and Exile are probably going to be used extensively as a dreadnought pilot so the drugs skills are going to be very important.

It all really comes down to what you want a dread for, POS bashing, Capital ganking or Sub-cap blapping, all 3 are pretty different and require different skills, fits and hulls ideally.

Must be a lowsec thing then? None of the wormhole fits I saw on there used them but DnD/Shadow Cartel seemed to fancy them.

I thought it was odd at first anyway tbh. Basically it frees up slots for tracking modules + sebos, lets you shoot when capped out. Lets you get cap back up fast to jump out quickly. Because your capacitor regain is fairly constant it is a lot harder to be capped out and help zero cap. If DPS is overwhelming chances are you will still get the same amount of rep cycles in anyway.

Lets you cap up and jump out very quickly instead of waiting for the cap to regen or have a carrier cap you out. Perfect for us in lowsec who do a lot of hit and run strikes.

Moros is the best dread ATM, however in 2 years time no one knows how the things will turn out. So as Revelation isn't bad at all, I would recommend going for the one you like the most.

Avoid Phoenix and Nagflar though.
