visible in high sec not working?

just learning the market, I set my buy orders to 'visible in high sec' only, a week ago, haven't had any problems - until today, I have several items in 0.4 space, at at least 2 stations. the 'visible in high security' is still the only box checked. any ideas?

did you have regional buy orders?

no. they were 3 & 4 jump orders.

It's a display filter. It allows you to not display orders in lowsec. That doesn't mean that anyone else in lowsec won't see that order. You are still buying in 3-4 jump range, including lowsec stations in that range.

oh wow ok, that is not what I expected. makes it harder to be a high-sec trader Sad guess I lost a few million on that lesson lol

You haven't lost any millions!!
You have bought yourself a lesson. Big difference!

Now if you make an effort to go and get it, and analyze what you did right or wrong the lesson have probably added value to you and your game, especially if we talk about millions. You are the lucky one finding out now rather then later,
