I use a Rattle Snake. Sentry drones rip the NPC's apart + you get 4 Cruise missile launchers. If your drones do get aggro scoop them up and boot em back out. If you find you are getting surrounded by NPC's use a Micro Jump Drive to Jump 100 km away and you'll find your drones don't get hit even if they do get aggro at that distance.

Hope that helps :)

End of all solution can't be to "just use sentries"..

I've tried to use heavy drones and they are good against NPC's that like to orbit at under 10 km as I have time to get them back when they get aggro. Bouncer II are great at range they will insta pop frigs and take out cruisers very quickly . Coupled with the 4 Cruise missile launchers Battle ships last a little longer but not much... if they get with in 40 km of my ship I switch to garde II. As I don't like turrets Sentry drones make the most sense to me.

I tried using a Raven and hated it... lost loads of drones with that. Domi is good for drones again but it's allot slower than a Rattle Snake. Basically you need ship bonuses + high skill points + drone upgrades to make them efficient enough to be reliable in lvl 4 missions... This is my opinion based on my experiences running level 4 missions.

Wait, what? What is this new AI you're talking about? Did something about rats change to make them hate drones more? I've not heard about this before . . . .

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

The only stupid thing about it is now EVE pve is even more bland.

I mean before you had differnt AI's to learn from Missions to DED to WH's. Now there all just kind of the same. bland.

Pluse high sec level 1-4 were the training wheels of newbies. Guess they only get one wheel on one side of there bike now lolz.

Is it a rock point a lazer at it and profit. Is it a ship point a lazer at it and profit. I dont see any problems here.

LOL yeah. Micromanaging drones doesn't work when they are 30km away and need to be recalled to dock to drop aggro. Fundamentally the new AI ought to be an improvement, it should have made PvE more interesting, rather than the absolutely predictable "I have all the aggro" old AI. Sadly it's failed, it's just as predictable, but in a more annoying way that is beating the snot out of solo PvE play.

CCP usually tunes and fixes this stuff. Sadly sometimes it takes them 2 years. (faction warfare!.. ECM.. black ops.. oh wait, they're still crap)

I said that months (if not years) ago.

anyways I haven't run a mission in months (haven't been subbed in months either) I for the most part use turret boats and pop frigs and long range. hell half the time I forget I even have drones (and if I'm multiboxing I forget even more because usually I forget to recall them and lose a few).
