There is no quantifiable, proven and farmable method or information. CCP never has and never will comment on the mechanics. The only things that are certain is: belts and not anoms and low trusec more often than not.

Everything else is myth and conjecture.

I got an officer spawn in a -0.8

So it's not just -.9 and -1.0

I had to have 2 people help me kill it. I was in an over tanked Maelstrom and still had to warp out.

I don't recall the date, but officer spawns were made more difficult to kill around a year ago, maybe more.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

just find the best true sec system with somethin like 10 belts, and kill everythin in that system, leave nothin on belts, wait till the hauler spawns come, then get ready for the officer to show, worked for me a few times, never got 1 while chaining

The rats spawn in a cycle, each new spawned group having more bounty, until the cycle reset and you are back at the group with the lowest bounty. Special spawns, haulers/faction/officer, can only spawn when the cycle reset happens. If you just keep killing the group with the highest bounty, you will never see any special spawns.

Not necessarily I've had 17 officers over the last 4 years, all in stain. Granted some of those were old dump officers and only about 5 of them have been the recent incarnation. But 15 of the 17 spawned while I was chaining either a 21 belt, 11 belt, or 14 belt system.

But as a disclaimer I dont really belt rat anymore and I haven't seen an officer in the last 6 months.

Dang, 17 officers in stain. Most systems out there are bad as far as security class is concerned. What security were the systems you got them in?

Lost count but I think I've seen/killed 7/8.

2 of those were after DT, can't do that any more.
The rest came from heavily ratting clearing all spawns.

What I do know is its random but chances are based on the amount of Spawns killed.
The more spawns you have (more belts in system) and the speed at which you can kill them helps improve your odds of eventually seeing one.

Now I don't know if anything changed with the Ratting chnages recently..I don't think it has but I havent done enough to quantify that with an answer.

It's hard to put fact to your questions, I do seem to see Officers in my experience at busier times like the weekends for instance.
This is probably due to the amout of additional ratters and the overall amount of rats killed in the system region.
Although I can not say for sure this is correct...just speaking from experience.

- Officers can spawn all over pirate npc space (delve (yes every system in delve is -1.0 truesec even shown as otherwise including sov space), stain, curse, venal, fountain? (not sure about this one))

- Officers can spawn in -0.8 - -1.0 none npc space all over new eden. including drone lands (drone officers included in latest patch)

- AI of officers is the same as sleepers BS rats AI (so very hard to kill solo. Some are doable)

- Spawnrate truely is random as i know it. Had one after killing 5 terrible spawns and had one after killing a few 'elite (1.8m)' spawns

These are the 'facts' that i know.

-0.86 is the border

I have cracked the secret of farming officer spawns on such a way that you can max out your chances. It's based on a few elements. Send me 100 mil and i reply in privet mail back exacly how the officer generating works. Information like this is not free.

Spawn rates are nerfed since ccp changed to dynamic spawns. The chance formula got adjusted on such a way that the chance of getting a "special spawn" is lower in total. This is why all faction candy prices are increased with atleast 30% and more populair mods, 50%.

This has been changed with the introduction of dynamic spawns

Semi Correct, think of zipping belts used to be populair (hint ;)). The higher the true sec the better the Tiers of special spawn's. These special spwans could be ether "Haulers, "Faction" or "Officer".

PS: my record is 7 officers in 5 days, old system 4*meta 12, 3*meta 13 officer
PS: it is actulay possible to get 2 officers belt after belt.
PS: now i stop, i have given away too much allready ;), for 100 mil i give exact detail mail on how it works

First off, I'm not looking to exploit the system to "farm officers". I am more interested in which sec level system officers have a chance to spawn in. I don't believe that is exploiting the system.

-0.86 is pure speculation and unverified, so I'm not sure what makes you think that it is exactly -0.86 vs. -0.8.

Which patch did CCP change to "dynamic spawns"? One of the last 2 or current one (Retribution, Inferno, Crucible)?

Did it occur in Delve, stain, curse, venal, or fountain?

I don't recall the date, but officer spawns were made more difficult to kill around a year ago, maybe more.

In Incursion 1.2 the officer difficulty was increased to better reflect their pimp fits.

As for the wheres and whens of their appearances, these are high-ranking pirates that have their own schedules and agendas. They didn't reach their elevated positions by being predictable.

Maybe you should correspondingly increase the chance of a drop. The spawns themselves are already really rare, and then to have them not drop anything of value is really ****.

I've had two officers in Tenal, so it doesn't have to be NPC nullsec.

I had 2 officer spawns in Stain both in a 0.2 system

One was a Chelm officer that dropped about 10 bill altogether. So yes it can be random (not really sure its truly random however).

And yes they are much much harder now, unless you are skilled and can figure out how to beat them, you will die alot and quickly as many neut you at 50km pretty instantly.

All my views are my own - never be afraid to post with your main, unless you're going to post some dumb shit

It doesn't have to be NPC null, but I've heard it said that because of the "broken" true sec there that they're able to spawn in any system, while in non-NPC null they are (supposedly) limited by truesec.

Is it broken though?
Seems it would make sense that officer rats are more commonly found in their home regions, particularly near the systems where they reside as mission agents.
It also scales with risk vs. reward, since NPC nullsec tends to be riskier to rat in than home sov.

Officer spawns are ultra rare & designed to be a group thing. They have spawned in -0.5 all the way down to -1.0
You can ask for data all you want, but this info is not collected in any database & people are not willing to share where they got it.

Tough **** sherlock.
