"some" is not an impressive number.

We're seeing more and more stupid people all over the globe because natural selection is obsolete. Technological advancements protect the stupid and intelligence is no longer essential to survive Straight

The dudes should have gone to AA Meetings a while back (they do work as I will personally vouch....they are the only solution, tbh).

As if the lawsuit is about the actual claims of the lawsuit... nobody there ACTUALLY believes any of that, not the plaintiffs, nor the judges. However, it's about gaming the law and what can be proven, even if the obvious responsibility lies somewhere else from a common sense perspective.
That's why it's called a law court, they play the law game, where, just like in tennis, they pass the official blame ball from one side to the other until somebody deflects it out of the provable bounds and they lose :p

Agreed.

But it is damaging to the already fragile intellectual state of America....which is almost non-existent at this time.

Most will not truly comprehend these ideas and will only see it for the "yeah, fight it boy' aspects.

TBQFH, I fear there's a small chance America will turn into the Christian version of "1979's Iran" eventually, so there's a lot more to be worried about than frivolous greedy lawsuits.
But I digress.

People these days are actually smarter, but they act a lot dumber due to lack of rigorous education. And the entitlement culture instilled from early on doesn't help at all either, quite the opposite (and quite a lot so).
Frankly, as long as parents insist more on schools that act more like daytime jails for their kids rather than a place of learning, focusing on cheap teachers that have little interest in teaching because they have to act more like nannies, and as long as this nonsense about child coddling continues, education will keep declining, and the "apparent IQ" will keep on dropping.

I mean, seriously, look at the portrayal of highschools and jails in TV shows and movies.
Does anybody have the gonadal fortitude to claim they're not disgustingly similar, after you adjust for the obvious mandatory differences ?

"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" is brilliant and all that but it has led to this:

I mean, seriously, look at the portrayal of highschools and jails in TV shows and movies.

Best portrayal of High School in America was definitely Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused", imho.

I must say that in a way I do when I type 'David Lynch's' with as much respect.

Funny tidbit about Romania : religion is now a default (but with alleged parental write-in opt-out) class staring from the "0th" grade (they moved the last year of kindergarten to the school).
This is in a country that's supposedly a secular democracy.
Yes, they TEACH RELIGION BY DEFAULT in school to 6 year olds, and up to 19 year olds. And not the history of religions or anything like that, but actual church dogma with actual church-sanctioned teachers.
And (at best) you get sideways looks if you try to exercise the opt-out.
Then kids get into the 5th grade and start telling their science teachers that the teachers are wrong and they won't learn what they teach them, because the religion teacher they had 5 years running told them science is wrong and/or evil.

I actually think much of it is the fault of schools, pretending memorization is intelligence. People aren't taught to think for themselves, and end up as adults who still look for others to tell them what to think.

If i were to ask the forum community what they thought of a current event, i guarantee at least 95% of them would just repeat something the TV told them to think.
