Some of us have good jobs and can afford to spend real money on videogames, if it will enhance our enjoyment. I also like to plan ahead, I'd like to be able to fly carriers and wanted to lock in a price now. Though I don't think I'll be seeing those ships again... Ugh

So you bought caps before even training for them?

Yes, it's called foresight and planning.

Insurance Fraud sounds good if I actually had a way out of here eventually, but at this point that would just add more to the debt they say I have to work off.

Slavery, it's alive and well in Eve, and this time it's not the Amarr.

A fine example of emergent gameplay, I've heard of similar things happening in DayZ where players are forced at gun point into virtual slavery for a while.

Developers just aren't capable of providing content like that, it would never get approved. They're not devious and twisted enough (even though CCP has some fairly twisted and deviant Devs)

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Good luck, I forgot to add that if the Almighty CCP in their infinite wisdom decides not to have mercy on your poor soul, then you'll have to manually plot a course to the nearest NPC station to change your Medical Clone location.

Open Starmap - stars tab - color stars by - open services menu - select Medical Facilities. Mouse over the nearest colored star to view station name, check station info to make sure it's NPC owned and then set destination. Just remember when in Null security space (0.0), never warp directly to a jump gate, best to do a little detour in each system such as warping to a random planet first before warping to the jump gate. After jumping through the gate, look around first before doing the detour action to make sure a warp bubble isn't between you and the detour spot (Planet or Asteroid icon in space).

Hopefully that will enable you to by-pass warp bubbles and make it to NPC station or high sec space.

Probably best to keep your Medical clone in high sec space and create Jump clones for low and null space. Next time, fly with the corp for a week or two before you join, also do some investigation into the corp and it's members before even flying with them.

Yes, it's called foresight and planning.

Nothing wrong with foresight and planning, I bought Covert / Black Ops ships long before I could fly them.

At this point I'd suggest starting a totally new character cause they'll probably hunt you after you escape still.

In the long run you'll be better off.

If the station is player owned, leave the corp and then un-dock you'll find you won't be able to dock again. Also when you are podded your clone will have been moved to another station.

I signed up for this game quite awhile back but have only recently gotten around to playing it; my recent experiences as a newbie in this game have not made me want to continue, however. Upon completing the tutorial and asking around for a corp to to join, I was approached by an experienced player. He told me that I could join his corp as a miner, and that it was a great way to make enough "ISK" to pay for my subscription and have lots of fun; this sounded great, so I joined his corp and committed suicide so as to respawn at the headquarters for the corp I had just joined...

I was not at all prepared for what I found upon reaching the corporation's "star system" (85-B52). Dozens (maybe hundreds?) of newbies like me were corralled into asteroid fields and forced to mine constantly, with guards in huge ships that dwarfed the puny mining ship they gave me. Anyone who tried to get near the stargates to leave the system ran into forcefield bubbles and were swiftly shot down; I left the corp hoping suicide would put me back in a High Security area, but I just respawned at the corporation's space station. After some googling I then tried to change my medical station to another station, but since I had left the corporation it said I didn't have access to those services; I seem to have no way of leaving the system, and the players forcing people to mine keep shooting me down when I refuse to go to an asteroid field.

I heard EVE was a hard-knock game, but this took me by surprise. Is this what most of the game is like?

Plead with them to be brought back into the fold. Then use the medical services to get out. Also, this mining scam. Do they give you good ships or do they just toss you into your noob ship/t1 frig? Because if you can get an ore frigate and free skills for mining then stay with them and get some good stuff first.

You should probably have that treated. Too much radiation from those rocks you've been mining. Wings are NOT normal.

great story

But it's missing sex slavery and human trafficking elements.

How about a scene where are you are forced to visit your CEO in RL and squeeze the zits on his back?
