The poster below you, above me, just answered that. There are many ways to reap rage from random Joes, without them having any way to get revenge. They can't be "responsible for their own fun".

However I can somewhat understand how 'fun' is treated as a zero-sum game for the most emotionally scarred amongst online gamers. It's not fun if it doesn't make someone mad.

Characters are a means to an end for your kind. There's no RPG in your MMORPG. You create them, use them for particular schadenfreude-generating activities, biomass them or wait for the heat/reputation to come down. Nobody manages a blacklist of Jita scammers whom he sends to every potential customer entering Jita.
CCP knows this, and sells you Power of 2s.

That is why they seasonal ammunition. They do it every holiday to see how people like the idea and then one day they will release incarna2 : nerfic boogaloo where all the guns just become light shows. Emergent pvpers then become people who design their lightshows in such a way that they induce a seizure in their opponent, who accidently bumps you and gets concorded.

As for what the other guy said those are all very easy to bypass.


As one guy said no one keeps a complete list of who is scamming in Jita at any given time. If you just use a different alt for a couple of weeks and don't intentionally make a name for yourself you won't suffer. Not only that but making a new character or needing to isn't a consequence. It is a business model CCP allows to exist for good or ill.

Regaining security status isn't difficult and who cares if you have public kill rights and a bounty on your ganking alt? It has about the same effect on them as it would on me for this character. It is just a cyno alt. Neither of those things are at all detrimental to my overall game play and therefor not consequences.

and I didn't mean to imply that you're doing this in a new player system. A guy getting harassed while doing L3s who has no relevent experience in Eve because he is a rather new player is still a "newbie" in my opinion. Let me rephrase though... A person/player with limited or no experience with the mechanics being exploited by a more experienced player for ***** and giggles. The consequences are pretty much non existent.
