I'm pretty sure I am not the only one who enjoys classic games from the late 80's early 90's almost as much as new games. Recently I got my old SNES running well and have a collection of the classics, Megaman X, Secret of mana, Chrono Trigger, and Super metroid to name a few. However one thing I am finding is that many of these games dont give much challenge any more... having played them far too much than healthy when I was younger... and even more now.

Anyway, One thing I have been doing is playing these games with increasingly difficult restrictions. I wana know if anyone else does the same, and what they have been able to do. As well as ideas on how to play these games in a harder way, or otherwise interesting.

My main accomplishments to date

Megaman X
-Beat game without dashboots (used code to have finished chill's stage without having boots). This one was hard!
-Beat the game without charging or using any special weapons... pea shooter only.
-Im working on doing the above together at the same time.

Chrono trigger.
-Level 60 Chrono solo lavos finish.
-below level 50 lavos finish

Super metroid
-Sub 40% finish
-Sub 1:30 Finish (best time to date is 1:21)

I also love my old PC...

X-com
-Superhuman finish
-No blaster/psi finish

I still enjoy replaying legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. almost 20 years and I still beat it from memory

I wish I had a SNES--I keep emulators and ROMs
