Did you know it is Market mechanics to give the money to the lowest seller? Even if I wanted to buy it from someone else?

For example, I put up a sell order for an Ibis for 15 million isk. I then go buy the same ibis but the isk does not go to the seller, but the lowest seller on the market. If he is selling the ship for 1 isk, he gets 15 million isk.

I dont think this is fair.

It's a good mechanic. The markets would be a mess without it, especially things like minerals. It would be full of thousands of cheap orders for one or two units.

actually I'm fairly sure it works that the person who put up the ship for 1m gets his 1m, then the other 14m goes to CCP. The person selling the ship for 1m doesn't suddenly get more than what he asked for.

Or have they changed this?

this is wrong for like 2 years i play. Personally i've sold shuttle for 8mils while i have never asked more than 8k for it =]

The humor in this thread brought me Christmas cheer.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

it has always been this way (using the ibis as the example):

if you put an ibis up for sale in a station that has other ibis's for sale, you HAVE to buy the lowest priced one from that station.

if you select a higher prices ibis (when lower prices exist in the same station), the sale will go to the lowest seller and you will get their ibis, they will get your money.

the lowest priced sell order always wins.

the highest prices buy order ( that is within range) wins.

that is how it should be.

if you want to buy from specific people... then make the deal outside the market screen,

Yep, I agree. Some people mess up the market UI, don't pay attention or just want to give their money away. A wile ago some poor bastard...eh...valued customer bought an Omen from me for 1.2 Billion.
And to the OP, it has been this way since I started playing this game. And it should stay that way, it keeps the market healthy and competitive. If you really want to sell to or buy from a specific character or corporation, use the contract system.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Nah, just a failed ISK laundering attempt thread.

@OP, if you want to do it, just set up the sell order in a station that doesn't have any of the item you want to use for sale. But CCP's not stupid. They do know how people try to launder ISK.

If you're just trying to launder ISK to keep your main undetectable by API checks (something that is, AFAIK perfectly legit), just use a cutout. Send ISK to a brand new alt on your second account, buy PLEX, reverse redeem the Plex, redeem it to the character you need money on, and delete the alt. Now it just looks like you bought PLEX to fund whatever it is you do.
