Buy an Orca, tank it, stick a couple smartbombs on there, and go unleash fury on Jita 4-4 undock. Then try to get your sec status back up. That should keep you busy a while.

isk isn't a big priority to me--I just buy it when I run out. I bought four or five 6-packs of plex in 2012, I don't remember exactly

EVE is there when I'm ready to fly around, I know that much. and that's good

I'm sorry, this was a dumb thread. I'm just in a funk.

Buying PLEX, in my view, removes most of the reasons to actually do anything in Eve.

This is not a signature.

One of the best things I can do for my eve experience is to go play something else for a couple weeks. Current favourite is Dota 2.

Judging from your set up, looks like you play pretty seriously. From your current apathetic attitide - sounds like burn out. Take a vacation from Eve.

Do any or all of the following;

1. Kiss somebody who is not a relative.
2. Go to a bar - play pool. Drink beer.
3. Do a parachute jump.
4. Catch a really big fish - the one that got away from me will do.
5. Do a triathlon.
6. Climb a mountain.
7. Shower.
8. Go to a nice resturant for dinner.
9. Naked sauna.
10. Play an instrument.

NOw as a bit of advice. Try the following in order. 7,2,1,8, which may lead to 9 and somebody playing your instrument for you. You can mix the order up as much as you like. I don't recommend 2,4,1,9 though. Damn sailor still writes to me.

I undock, but quickly lose motivation to stay out. I don't even spin ships--I just watch them float in station.

looks like all I'll be playing is Evemon and hit-the-snooze-button until next semester. truth is, I don't know what to do with January. the last time I had a dry spell like this was 2010 and I only logged to catch up on mail.

my roommate suggested finding an alliance, but playing on other players' schedules sounds like work.

Everything worthwhile about EVE involves interacting with other players. If your current group does not motivate you to undock, you need to find one that does.

My extended thoughts on the subject.

That setup looks familiar, but when I'm in a fleet like that it's with 4 other people. It makes it a lot easier to undock if the setup includes TS/Vent and a beer or 3.

Don't worry, your inability to be facinated by ship spinning is a sign of mental health.

Nothing wrong with taking a break, or you could throw in for something light like RvB or Bombers Bar.

Well at least with 14,735 less hornets, there's more room in the hangar if you decide to spin your ship :)

sorry, just couldn't resist :P

you know you could look for a smaller corp where you could impart your wisdom on folks without needing to undock all the time and without having some bossy CEO barking orders and expecting you to jump every time they look sideways at you, you could chat with them in their corp chat, listen to and share stories of your own and when something comes up that you're interested in doing they would appreciate and even welcome your participation and experience.

just a thought.

Don't mistake fact for arrogance, supposition for fact, or disagreement for dismissal. Perception is unique in that it can be shared or singular. Run with the pack if you wish, but think for yourself. A sandwich can be a great motivator.

Yup, 0.0 is very casual friendly. Just show up once a week for an op and you're fine.

But things there are awfully boring. I gave it a shot a couple times and always made my way back to hisec. Currently going through the same sort of apathy you mention, and it's probably the 5th time since i started playing. Usually 'quit' (aka: take a break) at this point but i subbed for 6 months before i knew WiS was abandoned, so i'm riding that out while training things and posting on the forums.

Yep I felt the same way too, no motivation to do anything after years of playing. Tried Perpetuum for a long while ,was fun too, no other mmo gets as close to eve gameplay as Perpetuum. Now I am back and I can undock Big smile

I quit running missions and joined a Faction War PVP corp. It's much more fun, and since I did so much carebearing I have loads of cash to squander on ships that will inevitably get blown up in silly ways. I mean, the only disincentive to PVPing is that being bad at it costs lots of ISK. If you have lots of ISK, then PVP is really the only challenging content left and you don't have any reason not to unless you simply hate PVP because it's PVP.

Also, FW gets me to actually undock because I feel like I'm PVPing for a reason. Just roaming around looking for kills always seemed pointless and silly, even if some people do turn it into interesting youtube videos. Once I started looking into it, I was surprised at how many different kinds of PVP there are in this game.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

"next semester", "my roommate"... Uh, yeah.

IF you're in school, maybe concentrate on your school work? If you're on a break and can't be motivated to play, why bother? Close the account and find something interesting to do with your time. You clearly have the motivation to post a new (troll) thread on EveO forums, so what does that tell you?

next semester isn't for another month. somehow, having less time for EVE between classes makes the time sweeter.

at least logging in isn't an issue--I like playing dress up with my characters <-for what it's worth, I swear this is not a troll thread.

I have this very problem.

This is my alt account, and i made a corp (join!, lol) as a result of this very thing. I sit in a station and spin ships. My main has 133m SP's, and so far as i can recall, hasnt undocked since august. i log on nearly every day. I dont DO anything. i dont even station trade.

I log on and instantly feel bored.

For me, a lot of it comes from having had the main since 2004--i've already tried everything. Most of it compleatly unenjoyable.

i like missions--and spnd most of my time trying to find a mission ship i like--but they all have TERRIBLE dps now. I dont want the missions to take forever, when i know the outcome already. 500 dps is weak, 800 is stupid. 1000 is getting there, but to hit the 1200 or so i want--i cant actually HIT anything with it...

so i dont ever undock. i dont want to spend 40 minutes in a mission that should take 10 ...

I have been collecting some interesting ships latley, just to change into something different when i log in and spin. Bought a legion with the locus sub, just because it looked cool.... bought interbus catalyst, because it's yellow. etc etc.

game is boring.

dps is too low.

but feel too guilty not to train something.

so i stay.

Well I guess i could try to say "lucky guess?", but you probably wouldn't buy that, however you're welcome to message me in game if you'd like, I tried sending you one but got an error message.
