For years I've been content on running lvl4 security missions from Dodixie, but now I'm very interested in doing explorations where I please Ugh. So I humbly ask the wiser community for a ship build that will help me do just that.

Thank you kindly.

what exactly are you looking to do. "exploration" can mean a few things.

are you scanning for sites?
-radars?
-ladars?
-magnometrics?
-combats?

are you simply roaming the eve universe?

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

If you've spent a few years out of dixie, you should be financially stable. If not, you've been doing something wrong.

What does your skill set look like? If you really want to explore, look into a T3. I'd suggest low sec to start if you can swing it (yes, you'll lose ships, but the profit should more than make up for it).

But in general, what do your skills look like? It's hard to suggest a ship and fit without that information.

Simply roaming and Radar. Sounds fascinating to me. And if you can't tell it's absolutely foreign to me =)

It's fascinating for a day or two. Then again, you have been doing missions for years, so you must have a very high tolerance for repetitiveness.

Still, if you like some excitement in your soup, you should look into training and fitting a wormhole exploration ship, such as a Strategic Cruiser.

I'll check it out. Thanks Thomas Gore.

the only reason i can think you would use a nemesis for exploration is if you plan to snoop around in wormholes and kill undefended things. Scanning with an unbonused nemesis can be a real PITA, so i would recommend scan rigs, faction probes, and good skills in that case.

With a helios you're basically safe anywhere, you would use that to find and bookmark sites then travel there directly with a combat ship.
