New Pulse Laser sounds are underwhelming

My alt is amarr and tbh the new turret sounds are like little old lady farts. The old one's where manly god fearing sounds that the Amarr people would be proud of!!! Bring back the POWER SOUND OF AMARR WEAPONS!!

Well when you zoom out away from your ship, or focus on another object floating in space your weapons sound pretty epic. But when focused on your own ship they are as said, incredibly underwhelming..

I am quite dissapointed with the new lasor sounds.

I mean, why the F did they change them in the first place?? what was wrong with them??

I am a amar only pilot. Amar has the best looking ships in my opinion, and lasors are cool.
I used to love flying around in my Prophecy, even tho its the worst battlecruiser.

But then during the last patch they changed the amar colour schemes, so that the golden fleet turned more to a dark brown type fleet....and who wants to fly a ship which looks like a turd. Also the Prophecy got some cheesy red eyes like a cylon from battlestar galactica or kit from kight rider. Which moron at CCP thought that was a improvement.
This thing with the sounds has basically broken my love for amar ships, now i have not much left, and i am thinking of quiting eve.

CCP... for the colours and sounds.... IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While not agreeing to the "the end is nigh" thing, you're right. Amarr used to have golden ships and over time that got changed to turd colour with patches of bronze. And the laser sounds really are silly, but then most new sounds are weird and just don't fit very well within the EVE setting. It's not me being inert to change but I honestly don't get how these sounds made it into the game.

Yeah the pulse laser sounds are kinda meh. They aren't bad but they aren't all that good either. Just kinda there. I don't get that, wow that sounds dangerous, feel that the hybrid cannon sounds have.

I don't know if I've said this already in this thread, but to me it sounds like the new turrets need more bass. That bassy echoed sound you get, like listening to a big explosion from far away under water, would be fantastic.

Funny story. Back in 2001 or 2002 when I started on the old weapon sounds I had a discussion with the Art Director on how the lasers should sound. And the only directive he gave me was. "Not like Star Wars"


I guess everybody here knows that the sound of lightwaves passing through the vacuum of space is "pew".

If we look at the basics of laser-physics, it should be pretty obvious:
