Hi all,

Been thinking of trying out the Epic Arcs this year and was wondering what are the prereq. standings for starting each of the Empire Faction ones? As there seems to be a little conflicting info about the web on it and I have no idea if/when any changes have been to made to the prereq. for starting them

Cheers

The standings required are 5.0 to the faction of corp identified at the begining of each walkthrough.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

No problem, If your a very competent LVL4 mission runner you will be capable of running the gallente and minmitar epic arcs, for the caldari and amarr I suggest a interdiction nulified and cloaked T3 as well as a good mission ship, of course they can be done with other ships but those will make them more a sightseeing tour than a chore.

That's +5.0 Faction or Corporation standing of the starting agent for each specific Level 4 Epic Arc. Corporation standing is much easier to gain for access to the Epic Arc's. If using Corporation standing, the Faction standing will need to be above -2.00

The Level 3 Pirate Epic Arcs require +3.00 standing.

The Level 1 Sisters of Eve Epic Arc is available to all regardless of standings. However, completing this arc requires travel into all Factions high security systems. Having your Personal Security Status above -2.00 and all Empire Faction standings above -5.00 is advised. If not, Faction Navy NPC's (not as strong as Concord) will attack. Also if active in Factional Warfare, it's advised to leave the Militia before starting the arc.

When I did the Amarr arc, I did not have to go to null. The only mission I got in non-highsec can be completed in a T1 frigate.
If you want to complete the arc for Sansha, a nullified T3 is recommended.

Also, I can't speak for the Caldari arc.

My bad, been awhile since I did the Amarr, the caldari did require a run into low sec. I am a little foggy as to the circumstances as its been awhile..... hmmm guess it is time to do them again.

Amar has no lowsec aside from the Sansha arc at the end.

Caldari has optional lowsec arcs. The only mandatory lowsec arc is a courier mission. Don't use shuttle, ideally use covops, if not, tanked inertia stabbed frig. Ppl camp the courier route with smartbombing BS.

About Caldari Arc:

  • 2 or 3 missions go to Lowsec, one of them has option to go to null, difference is 10mil reward, IMO not worth a risk.
  • On the path to LS (long courier mission with S.I.) there is one camper with 4 alts. He is camping one gate in Loki and Proteus
and at the same time scouts the path with alts system and two in front. He is able to do almost impossible instalocks.
Locked me in nano covops frig not giving a chance to turn on cloak (sic!, in theory he had 0.7 sec for that).
Try docking in station one system before, then logoff after 10 mins, return after 1 hour or other methods of confusing him
    about your destination.
The risky mission goes to left lower corner of the map.
The lowsec missions in upper part of the map are moderate safe. Just normal lowsec safety rules apply. (scout in rookie first without cargo, etc.).
There is a lot of militia and thus not so many campers on gates. At least they don't risk loosing T3 ships as lamers hanging on gate.

  • few missions will give negative standing to Gallente (IIRC) but that can be avoided, at least partially
  • in one (The Breakout) just slowboat cloaked to gate, after jumping frigs will not atack you.
Be aware - there is a lot of farmers, don't hestitate to use gate in site where combat is already in progress.

  • one mission (read details on eve-survival) has couple of arazu, they do huge EM damage so if not properly tanked you can loose a ship. (The mission is about uncloaking a fleet, forgot a name).

  • last mission is pain in the ass - zilion ECM, big DPS, a lot of warpouts.

  • and last but not least - chose missions path carefully, I did wrong choice (just missed an option) when Honourable Betrayal is proposed together with another mission. Lost ability to finish an arc with 300mln worth faction lab.
