This is a surprise? There are only a very limited number of Eve geeks left, certainly not enough to sell a reasonable number of kits. Shocked

I am not, nor will I ever be...Nicky Yo.... The question you should ask is.....When will they release the NICKY!

The crap "Back to the future" deloren won it, partly because the guys who designed are giving there 1% comission to the micheal j fox fund.

So no Rifter not unless the designer gives us the bpo to build the lego rifter :)

They want to announce the result of all 4 summer-reviews at once... so it's gonna take some more time.

You could just go to a Lego store, buy all the individual pieces yourself and build one. lego store

The best place to find pieces for custom builds providing you have a parts list is Bricklink.com, I wont link it as I am not sure this is allowed on the forums, but I use this site all the time and have a store on it.

No way Lego will consider releasing EVE ships even though the designs are pretty awesome its just too niche for them, subs would need to go from 450k to 4.5 million for them to even consider it.

The review board stated that it was too challenging for them, so they picked an easier option.

I think that can be roughly translated as not profitable enough, after all with the juicy licenses they already have, Star Wars, Harry Potter an Lord Of The Rings to name but a few why would they even risk it.

If CCP approached them directly for say a range of mini sets and a guaranteed order for their own merchandise store they might get somewhere.

The Lego design team seem to use cuusoo mainly for vague inspiration for pre-existing themes from what I have seen anyway.

"Too much of a challenge for us"

It was pretty clear. People prefere the easy option, even large companies. Since the Rifter was too hard for them, we should submit a Super Carrier or Titan & upvote the crap out of it. It looks like they're oblidged to physically build the top 4 proposals, so lets give them a challenge.
