For those players with multiple billions of (liquid) isk, how do you manage it? I'm only wondering how you handle your isk... no investments in other player schemes or assets.

I see two methods:

Keep it all in your wallet
  • A market typo could wipe you out

  • Single person corp
  • Use corp wallet divisions as "bank accounts"
  • What if you want to stay in an NPC corp?

  • Any other ideas?

I'm a little confused as to why you stipulate "no investments". I didn't make my trillion or so by letting it sit idle...

I never have more than a billion liquid. Everything is invested in ships, and PLEX..

I buy up large assets and tech 2 bpos or a variety of ships as isk sinks.

I keep the majority of my isk on an alt account along with bpos and rare ships. Isk wise my alt holds around 142bil and about the same in assets.

I often transfer money across when dual boxing and typically only keep 2b and below on my active toon. Along with an assortment of ships and assets.

It is important to split up large amounts of isk and assets to avoid scams or typos when your mental faculties are degraded.

A few of my friends keep all of their money on there main accounts and have often fallen victims to market scams.

Oh I'm not against investment at all! I'm merely asking how others manage the immediate, liquid isk portion of their wealth.

  • Well, that would solve the problem with having multiple billions alright.

But I expect most players to have an alt corp that keeps their personal fortune in a non-active wallet division.

I figured as much re: alt corp/chars. That's what I'm doing now.

since i bought a cheetah for 180 millions because of a market typo i send every isk over 400 mill to an alt :) will not save me from another 180mill covert ops but from more expensive errors :D

but seems like not everyone does this as someone donated me 2.5 billions in isk (payed 1 mill each for 2.8k tripped power circuit hehe)

Buy PLEX with it. Sell it with a profit if you need cash again. PLEX is kind of like a stripped government bond. No coupon, so no interest. But it can still have a yield...

I've done that a few times too. The "seed" of my market success was someone that sold me a Phoenix for 1.5m, back when there weren't so many big warnings.

    1) Stick it all in a giant swimming pool
    2) Dive into it (Scrooge McDuck style)
    3) Swim around in it
    4) ???

I buy large quantities of merchandise and then lock it away in appropriately labeled Vaults.

The vault with the slaves needs to be hosed out once in awhile, but then I installed the sprinkler and aerosol detergent system... it's such a time saver. Nevermind that the neighbours were bitching about the smell.....Roll

    Blink

Either way, the vaults solve the accidental typo issue.

I do that already, and I've not even broken my first 1bil liquid ISKies yet.

But that's probably WHY; ISK goes in, OOH SHINY, ISK goes out.
