I am a supporter of the New Order but i don't believe we are going far enough.

The afk mining mindset is instilled during the first few weeks in the game, once someone has become a miner they will stay that way. This disease must be nipped in the bud. I believe we must gank new players anywhere outside of noob systems.

Those who respond with the correct mindset should provided with ships, skillbooks, support etc and invited into right thinking corps...those who wish to continue mining have two choices, either join an approved corp with punitive tax rates to fund our reclamation of high sec or risk repeated ganking.

Only by starting early can we rid Eve of this menace.

To put it bluntly, this is a stupid idea.

How so? I enjoy tears as much as anyone but we have an opportunity to persuade new players to do something interesting rather than shoot rocks and then leave cos its dull as **** or become entitled dicks who think they should be able to shoot rocks without anyone bothering them.

They can't ban all of us for ganking newbies. Can they?

Only if you do it in a noob system, outside of that you can do what you like

I heard awhile back that CCP frowned upon this. Wasn't sure if I missed something in the patchnotes. I don't go to the noob systems.

Outside of rookie systems they are targetable (Arnon is also a rookie system), with exception occasionally made for targeting rookie missioners of the Sister of Eve Epic Arc (one player documented case). Outside of that, excessive targeting of rookies might get you a frowny face but it is currently not declared punishable.

That said, your idea is stupid. Capitalize on rookie stupidity to educate them, not on their vulnerability. Yes there is a difference.

Your idea is more likely to cause people to quit rather than change their AFK mining ways. You could always draft a memo of why AFK mining is a terrible idea and EVE-Mail it to said offenders and see how they react. And then take action accordingly.

EDIT: I didn't fully read the latter part of your post. This seems like an interesting recruitment strategy. Going to create an army of Ventures?

You are shitting on newbies that's why this is stupid. If you want to make a difference make a newbie training corp and teach them how to be social in this game. So they have fun and make friends instead of becoming a bot-aspirant AFK miner. I'm on my 4th gin and tonic now and even I can see that.

E: Teach them to gank the AFK miners, gank a miner and a newbie is set for the day but teach a newibe to gank a miner and the newbie is set for their EVE life. Think of all the tears you'd get if you have newbies murdering miners by the droves. Remember all the "he kill my 300mil ship with 3mil ship" posts?

This is a good idea. There are corps that high-sec gank miners and according to their info. they're new player friendly. I don't think the new players know about them, but they do exist.

That's not "getting tears". What you are doing is telling new players that you're an absolute ****, and that you have absolutely no skill at PvP or anything even remotely close to it. You are a carebear, more-so than the AFK miners you want to "kill".

Getting quality tears requires you to know how to actually PvP. It requires you to know how to gather proper intelligence on an enemy, and use their weaknesses against them. Get someone pissed off enough because you won't engage them on their terms so they threaten to kill you IRL. Report them. The suspension happens, and watch them hop on an alt to whine, or ragedec your alliance because he can't play on his main right now. Those are tears.

Find out a WT alt's mining corp and dec them, and the CEO of the corp threatens to report you to the FBI for cyberterrorism. Those are tears.

If you seriously think that the upset newb you just blew up, complaining about how you were a "big ol' meanieface" qualifies as tears that anyone cares about, I don't know what to tell you. You're bad and should feel bad.

Leadership is something you learn. Maybe one day, you'll learn that.

There's nothing to be gained from this.

I don't know why you minerbumpers delude yourselves into thinking that you're actually going to change anything or have any meaningful impact on the game.

I don't get it. What are you suppose to do while not afk mining. Stare at your astroid? The ganking and bumping is causing the problem with afk mining not correcting it. You are nothing but goons.

Maybe socialise with people in the multiplayer game that you play like a single player game?
