actually, i tab out and do other things while i'm mining. mining isn't something i do for fun, it's something i do for easy isk while i'm doing other things.

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about stacking your isk into isk/hour. The yield from a 3rd MLU will not make you more money than if you survived due to having a DC2 fitted as opposed to replacing retrievers.

And what do you do with that ISK?

Im going to take a shot at a guess and say you plex your accounts.

So, you are not playing the game so that you can continue to not play EVE next month, without it affecting your real life wallet.

You would be better off -not playing the game-. That way you could not play EVE, with no chance of it affecting your wallet, and it would require even less effort.

Actually, all his posts are completely cogent. Explain, specifically, what makes his posts incoherent? Or is it just because you're incapable of produce a legitimate counter argument yourself?

In any other game, particularly multiplayer ones, gaining rewards for "doing nothing' or afk'ing the game is usually referred to as boosting, and typically gets those rewards removed by devs and in some extreme cases, such as Halo Reach, bans are even handed out. In this case, the devs aren't punishing you, as per their policies regarding what is and isn't legitimate for the sandbox. However, along those same lines, it is the players punishing afk miners instead, by ganking and/or bumping.

You should actually consider yourself fortunate, because if it were any other game, you wouldn't be getting away with it.

congratulations, in a game where non-contribution is detrimental is punished, as it should be. however, how is me not being at my keyboard in a situation where me being at the keyboard isn't required in any way detrimental to any one, and why should it be punished?

please, enlighten me.

players aren't punishing afk miners in the slightest, players are simply finding enjoyment in annoying other players; just how it should be. this is what i like about the game.

if this were any other game i wouldn't be playing it because it'd be dull and based on every one should get a gold sticker for taking part even if you suck.

never lost a retriever to a gank. lost a covetor once when i laughed at a guy who failed to gank a hulk... does that count?

of course i'm not playing the game when i'm mining, that's the entire point of me mining. so i can make isk while i do other things.
