Anyhow, I thank those who gave an honest opinion on what the Widow is like, and gave advice on how it would be used. I am still thinking of getting a widow, but from what people have shown me (about it being more of a support than an active), I will look around and see if I can find another ship to which I like that would be more of an active DPS when in PvP.

i assume more or less we all have the habit of having ships docked most days of the year, just because we love their looks.
my widow falls into the above category for me.

The Widow is a terrible choice for a solo BLOPs simply because it cannot get any form of gank + tank combo. You should look into training Gallente BS 5, training T2 sentries, and get into the Sin, which does 1100 DPS without a full officer fit.

The problem you will have is, no matter how well you jam your enemy, if you do not gank him fast enough, you will end up with people dogpiling in on you. Eventually, this will cost you your Widow.

If you do not have enough tank, when you drop in to interrupt say, a Tengu in an anom, and the rats begin shooting you, you will die in a fire before your pathetic DPS even has a tenth of a chance of busting a full carebear ubertank fit on a Tengu.

If you are not picking on Tengus, you are doing this wrong.

Right now, I would only vaguely consider flying the Panther or Redeemer, because the Sin is so awesome.

I think the Widow is the optimal ship for a rookie to start PVP with, especially solo. OP shouldn't listen to all the haters who suggest starting out in smaller and cheaper ships.
